APLOGIES!! You will need a MOTOR of some kind, power source wise, I used a creative engine in this tutorial. a rotation block, there a simple and advanced one. also you will need a create mod piston with the pillars for it as well, that should be all if i am remembering correctly!!

How do I get it to not close on me also it got stuck using the glue

You only stick the glue on the blocks you want to move, the actual pistons and motors and such you do NOT need glue on them. also you need a gear shift to reverse it.

apologies for the later reply however if you want to stop it full you will use a clutch, if you want to make the rotation go the other way then you will use a gearbox, there is also a sequenced one to have more control, however if you just want to make the piston go down then you will put a gearbox on it

You have to flip the switch again, there is also a redstone receiver that can be used with that to allow the lever to be wherever you need

How do you active it ?

In creative mode there is a creative engine, then you put a rotation block that will move it one way or the other and it'll use the lever to change it's rotation.

In new updates, there’s a wireless controller that you operate from your inventory that links to the wireless receiver
