@@pederstrmKollenborg Just corroborating. It appears Ash left in 2022 April, but James is still there. Callum, who shows up in this DC building series, is also still there, but I guess it's probably difficult for him to finish up the series himself. The marketing director responsible for pushing the KZbin channel in the first place, Drew, left in 2020 a month after the 40k subscriber celebration Q&A, which better explains the severe drop in activity from 2019-2020 levels in the first place. Seems likely that Ash picked up some of the initiative after he left, but now that Ash is gone, here we are.

Question: how cold does a server room need to be, what are the disadvantages of running a server room hottter than ambient or colder.

As a rule, server rooms are set to a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius in a cold corridor and a humidity of 30 to 60%. In hot regions, data centers need more energy for cooling. Power usage effectiveness (PUE) is a metric used to determine the energy efficiency of a data center. Modern data centers are guided by an indicator equal to 1.1-1.5

Cooling, cooling, cooling = blah, blah, blah. Show us some tech related stuff - main fiber connections coming in, cable infrastructure, MDFs, IDFs, servers, etc. Which I doubt you go much into because of 'customer concerns'..and that sucks.

When not in use for their nominal purpose, you could use the auxiliary chiller connections for connections to a loop buried under the parking lot to keep the snow off. You're paying for the heat, may as well use it.
