The only thing I can say, that may sound negative, but it's not meant to be, is that you should have made it a Softail with shocks on the rear and on the front forks. Wheel diameter is about the same as a bicycle wheel, the brakes will work just as effectively.
@genephipps64213 жыл бұрын
@@olsonspeed he mentioned the weight not the diameter, and his point was not without merit because all of that rotational mass is essentially a big flywheel or energy storage system. That said, given enough stopping distance I am sure they will eventually get the bike stopped. Obviously they won't be as effective as they would on a regular bicycle tire.

@@olsonspeed Nope the rolling weight of the tires and wheels come into plat as well. The only real tricky part would have been, at what height do you put your pedals--- but then you could just measure from the existing bike and get you in the ball park, easy... The rest is very simple... Stand up a tire, start at the hub and simply angle your piece so that it misses the tire---- the precise angle isn't important, just as long as it clears the tire..... The motor he used is an already existing system; and it's not even that important where you mount it, just as long as your chain is in line--- You can always adjust the length of your chain to match what you've built... This is a truly amazing build. Great work. Well beyond anything I could ever do as I have none of these tools or shop. My design critiques if you want to read them. Giant frame could have easily housed the wiring and stuff. Handlebars just look like some off the shelf item which is unfortunate since the bike looks amazing. Then the small details are also a bit unfortunate. The kickstand bracket, the battery tray how it attaches to the frame, and things like the motor mount and brake mounts are just 100% functional with no design. I love the shape of the frame. I wish that you had used a simple square tube for the battery holder mount attachment to the frame. Just have a square tube off the top of the seat post part of frame, parallel and level with the top bar and have seat post go through that square tube. Chop off that extra bit on the front fork that sticks out to the left of center.

Boy, if I had a beautiful shop like that, with all those tools, I could build a flying saucer or something equally neat !! So , are you gonna put those into production ??

Gonna need a 300ah battery for this thing, just to get 20 miles per charge. That end product was sweet as hell though!

What is the top speed before riding in the uncomfortable rough bum end vibe? Notice now bike likely can only ride at 15mph to avoid the rough cut vibrations from having no shocks. Using car tires you likely need a fatter tire to absorb the bumps at least. But this project a prototype so Im sure you be coming up with the revised frame, but great looking build, just obvious it is not practical over 15mph and only useful on smooth streets.
