Nice looking bike and kudos for the design. The only thing I can say, that may sound negative, but it's not meant to be, is that you should have made it a Softail with shocks on the rear and on the front forks. Hydraulic brakes might be a good addition to be able to handle all the extra weight as well. I think you did a great job, it's a great idea.

Try that again with 40kg pressed on.. Becomes harder. And for turning on a bike, you need to ride on the side of the tire. Riding on the center and turning is also possible, but only at speeds below 3km/h. So not feasible for bike riding.

@@olsonspeed he mentioned the weight not the diameter, and his point was not without merit because all of that rotational mass is essentially a big flywheel or energy storage system. @@mihalym.6876 How silly. lol... You could easily make this without even having any plans... The only real tricky part would have been, at what height do you put your pedals--- but then you could just measure from the existing bike and get you in the ball park, easy... The rest is very simple... Stand up a tire, start at the hub and simply angle your piece so that it misses the tire---- the precise angle isn't important, just as long as it clears the tire..... The motor he used is an already existing system; and it's not even that important where you mount it, just as long as your chain is in line--- You can always adjust the length of your chain to match what you've built... I literally can't think of any reason to do this in CAD

Which is excellent for such an inexpensive and small motors. Were you aiming for more torque or more speed with your gear ratio? I would like to hear your thinking on gear ratios.

This is a truly amazing build. Great work. Well beyond anything I could ever do as I have none of these tools or shop. My design critiques if you want to read them. Giant frame could have easily housed the wiring and stuff. Handlebars just look like some off the shelf item which is unfortunate since the bike looks amazing. Then the small details are also a bit unfortunate. The kickstand bracket, the battery tray how it attaches to the frame, and things like the motor mount and brake mounts are just 100% functional with no design. I love the shape of the frame. I wish that you had used a simple square tube for the battery holder mount attachment to the frame. Just have a square tube off the top of the seat post part of frame, parallel and level with the top bar and have seat post go through that square tube. Chop off that extra bit on the front fork that sticks out to the left of center.

Again well done, but why not as 2 wheel driven bike with 2 small direct drive wheel motors. So you could also recuperate when braking ?

as a bike mechanic I would have done some things different. first, eccentric bottom bracket this way you can tighten the chain. second the sadle a buddy sadly would have looked more nice. a more powerful single unit motor. and a belt system. besides that very awesome build. even with the components you choose.

Awesome looking build, and glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought of using back-to-back hub motors! Did the controller come already programmed, or did you have to configure for the reverse rotation on one side?

This is brilliant design and workmanship and finishing. Congratulations Considering the light w two vertical webs is fine. If the bike was meant carry more weight, as in a " cargo bike" I would have bridged those webs to form anther two horizontal beams joining the webs with the main structure so that the torque on the plate will be assisted by these two additional beams, at top and mid way of the plate.

I love the video-making, how it shows a complex built in a very entertaining way. The built itself is a nice engineering exercise but terrible design. No suspension and low profile tires must make for a terrible ride, let alone using car tires on a bike which is mega stupid. This built is for the cool looks alone, more a piece of art than a usable bike.

What is the top speed before riding in the uncomfortable rough bum end vibe? Notice now bike likely can only ride at 15mph to avoid the rough cut vibrations from having no shocks. Using car tires you likely need a fatter tire to absorb the bumps at least. But this project a prototype so Im sure you be coming up with the revised frame, but great looking build, just obvious it is not practical over 15mph and only useful on smooth streets.
