The fabric type weed barrier will disintegrate pretty fast.I`d recommend using the woven polyprop type (screwfix) which has a 10yr warranty. Getting the pup to use the toilet isnt too bad, the trick is to get his/her urine scent on the gravel. Use a lead initially to guide them to the right spot and use a hand gesture showing where you want them to go. Use a command word , ours being wee wee and oopoopidoop (pups can poop on command with a bit of practice ) above all dont forget to give lots of praise when they go :)

amazing! so does this never smells even with the buildup of urine over the months? just realy need to be sure smelling is not an issue . thanks!

Once a month a watering can with some disinfectant and water mixed just pour that all over it.

The weed killer is absolutely not recommended for ecological reasons, but also for safety reasons as it isn't recommended for the puppy. I find it is also absolutely not necessary, so easy to pick weed if it starts growing.

Hi guys, I’ve watching videos , lots of video!! In order to get ideas and solutions for my own back yard, because I have 3 huge dogs . I got it say this I’ve seen better more fancy with a septic system etc .. So I must telling There is beauty and elegance in the simplicity and strait forward way in which you wife built and explain this project. I regret no seeing this before. No it’s fine. Still get a few weeds come through but we just pull them out.

Could you please let us know about the cleaning tips of the potty area. Especially for solid waste. Does it have to be picked up, or can it be washed down with water hose as well.

Solid waste needs picking up so you lose a few stones each time. Other than that it can just be hosed down every now and again. Our Pup gets let out in the night and goes straight over to it. Takes a bit of training but it’s much better than trying to find stuff all over the garden!

Yes it is permeable so any liquid filters through to the ground underneath.

No it's fine although it's harder to mow the grass around it, ideally need a strimmer
