I am planning on building a floating dock with my friends with 55 gallon water barrels for fun on the lake, it will just be a simple wooden platform but will be very fun, just wanted to look at other videos of people making floating docks to expand my imagination. thank you

Alligators here too - just add some barrels for the extra weight! You're right about the fun - a lot can be had on the simple barrel dock (the way I started out too). Good luck with it.

Mr. Mattson, I also followed your boating travels with great interest, I am close to buying a house on the St. Lawrence river and would love a dock like you just installed. I just got off the phone with your dock manufacturer and had a great conversation with the gentleman that put together your order. he is sending me a info and sample package, 4 foot longer dock with a patio on top , not cheap but not as bad as I figured, we shall see what works out for us!, all my best to you and Connie, Mark R.
@mattmattsongold6 жыл бұрын
Good Mark - might be a cost effective solution for you too. Don't know if he told you, but you can attach to shore instead of the poles if that is suitable for your water (I know it can get pretty deep quickly in places up there). Are you the Cpt that bought a Prairie?
@hardchines6 жыл бұрын
Matt you are very correct about water depth, I am presently in the Marlboro yacht club on the Hudson river , I have 18 feet of water under my dock there! the area I may be buying a house has about 3 feet under the dock position! I have to survey the depths going towards deeper water but based on what I see others doing in the area , I may need a ramp around 100 feet long.No it was not I who bought a Prairie, But I did buy a 26 carver 2667, a small cabin cruiser with classic lines and a real cabin , it is my retirement cruiser. Short list upper and lower stations, I installed a 45HP Yanmar diesel and a Diesel generator, I added almost every feature you can add to a boat, and its trailerable! If you come out one morning and find your dock has vanished , just look for a little Carver towing north towards NY!

Matt I just realized you are on Lake Eufaula, I almost bought a water front lot off a friend of mine on the lake a few years back, still for sale!!
@mattmattsongold6 жыл бұрын
You may be fortunate if it is directly on the reservoir. After going through several blows here, we're glad to be on a creek, since the lake can really pound. I looked up the 2667 - good setup - and the diesel will make it economical to the max. Good solution. Traierable makes it an excellent solution. Interesting the dock capt. was just here today making sure everything is up to snuff (it is) and said the factory mentioned you, and had asked him if he could get his barge to NY on budget . . . If you did do this, I'm sure the Flotation people send their man wherever a kit goes to work with whatever contractor so it goes smooth no matter who does what. Very best of luck whatever you do!

Thanks for that - we've gone the mega-yacht route: a 20+ year old 13 foot Dauntless we re-powered: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ2vpn5jpLV4Z6M (65 gave it a thumbs up and 3 have nor morals, decency, and are of very low caliber).

Matt would you suggest a floating dock or stationary dock on main lake (eufaula).
@mattmattsongold4 жыл бұрын
If you don't have wind/wave protection I'd go stationary. These docks are anchored with poles and all that stuff is pretty close tolerance to take on serious waves like we get with a N. wind. If you've got protection - you're good to go. Good luck!
@nuttybuddy414 жыл бұрын
@@mattmattsongold you on lake eufaula? I could do wood work but have nothing to drive piles in water. You know anyone that wouldnt charge arm and leg for driving the pilings? Docks are so high around here..

i'm trying to look up docks like this, might be a good way to saxe money on a dock, but i can't seem to find one like this. any advice?
@mattmattsongold3 жыл бұрын
This was a dock I designed (or re-designed) and they put in their computer and built. If that company is still in business, have them pull up my name and M-100 (what it was at one time) and they might have it. Who knows if they're still around though?

Is there a website you got this off of?

www.aluminumboatdocks.com (Floatation Systems Inc.) - I modified this one to fit our situation (M-100). Whether they're still in business or not I don't know.
