We have just planted the foundation of a food forest!
This was just an empty lot and our plan is for this to be a thriving food forest!
Want to start a food forest in your community? We are in service to help you get started! Our mission is to assist people in attaining Food Freedom - breaking free from the global, industrial food system and growing their own food! We do this by providing the Food Forest Starter Bundle on a suggested donation basis. This bundle includes 30 of the easiest to grow, most productive foods in Florida and is ideal for laying the foundation for a food forest or creating The Survival Garden. We’re talking about growing a lot of food, with the least work, so you can truly break free from the grocery store!

This is the Deuces Food Forest, created by Ramona Brayboy in the Deuces of South St. Pete. Ramona says, “Through this Food Forest we seek to end our dependence on the grocery store by growing our own food and building up our community.” There is a powerful movement of revitalization taking place here in The Deuces and I am humbled and honored to get to play a very small role in this. Let’s build up this food forest together!

Wish I had land like you! We don’t plant trees, just plants in summers only, our neighbors have old giant trees, maple, and Christmas trees that their branches all over our properly 😌

Sounds great, but I'm in Oregon, the southern mountainous region. Not all your choices will survive here... We need a local project to get involved in!

Agreed. I know elderberry, mulberry, sorrel and spinach from his list grow in high desert central Oregon. I'm thinking (and trying) walking onion, sunchokes, garlic, and any Choi, kale, chard.

I'm in South Florida on a very tiny post stamp lot with a drought tolerant Food Forest I started several years ago. Hopefully one day you can come by and check it out.

Hi! Any recommendations for zone 11-12 areas? Im from South Africa, in a region that makes growing conventional food forests a struggle due to heat in summer.
