I was finally able to build my own gaming pc after 22 years of dreaming about it. I was 14 when I got my first PC (a dell, and grossly underpowered even for the time) and always said one day I’d build a high performing rig for gaming. I think I’ve watched your entire library of videos from 2022 to present, over the last 3 weeks while shopping for parts. Yesterday, my 8 year old son and I fired up our first game on steam and it was genuinely difficult to tell which one of us was more excited. Your videos helped me both learn and teach what I’d learned to him, giving us both a deeper appreciation for how PC’s work. I genuinely appreciate your videos both stylistically and for the informative content. It’s not much, but please accept this small token of gratitude for helping an elder millennial’s dream come to life and helping me inspire a new generation of pc gaming enthusiasts (even if he’s only concerned with Roblox at the moment 😅)

I’ve wanted a gaming pc since I was a little kid, fast forward today I’m still a kid but I’m almost 18 in a few months. With that being said, I’m in the process of buying parts for a high end pc. I’m super excited to build it, wish me luck. But hearing that first part got to me because my first pc was a hp and it was super underpowered and I’ve been dreaming of a high end system ever since.

It's so much fun. Much much much more personal. And I get great joy from watching my computer work as intended. The customization possibilities are endless, and with channels on YT with people like Marcus here, it's never been easier nor less gatekept to get into the hobby. It is, however, damn expensive to get very good performance.

Nice, I'm using the same mother board with a i512600kf. Straight out of the box with no tweaking my CPU runs automatically at 4.5ghz and well under 60° during gaming. No bottlenecks. Some games the cpu hits 4.8ghz which is the max. The board still slightly overclockes the CPU as the base is 3.7ghz. Ram is set to 3600mhz and the 4070 is just amazing. CPU never has to try. Definitely a decent budget mother board.

I Just ordered parts to build my first PC. The price was $644.27 at the time. It took me about a week of bargain shopping online but I'm happy with what I got. It all came from Amazon and Newegg. @@frankes028 I did that for a very specific reason. If my GPU ever dies my PC isn't a paperweight until I acquire another. I don't have the luxury of being able to just buy a new GPU out of the blue. Also do to my extreme low vision I don't play very many high demanding titles. Honestly the integrative graphics will be enough to do most of what I do. But I had the money at the time so I went on and got a dedicated GPU while I was able. Now that's why I bought what I bought.

I do enjoy your build format and banter. I did the upgrade to Windows 11 last year and was enjoying the experience I then did the 22H2 upgrade and my keyboard, mouse, internal wifi and my new RX6800XT were not recognized and I was getting blue screens. I ended up buying a new motherboard and keeping it to Windows 10 as I did not know how to fix the problem.

@@jgbenadeaf6424 So i decided to build my own with all new parts. Did it then computer said it was shuting down and the corsair cooler wasnt lit up. So must have connected wrong, so then ashop built it for me and then it kept shutting down with no warning and had to reset cmos to get it back to life. Then i got refund, purchased another pc, that arrived damaged, sent that back got a refund, then purchased another pc installed gpu myself, works great, but now im getting crashes on games and have had to send gpu off to be tested. Just stress stress stress lol haha. I just dont think they are worth the money.

Like wtf even, I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for Technician, had to come today and 1 hour before 5pm mentioned we should reschedule to Monday! Same things its just stress, but good luck❤️

You didn't explain why to populate channels 2 + 4. I have a Z690 board and populated 1 + 3 slots. When I tried to enable xmp, the mb would not boot. I moved the stick s to 2 + 4 and enabled xmp. The mb booted fine.

1. most intensive I would play is starfield. Also league of legends and lost ark, maybe some steam indies. I'm open to 1080p or 1440p. 2. My budget is 2000 CAD but the less the better. 3. I'm doing virtually nothing on my pc besides gaming and the occasional web browsing. 4. I've chosen to go with amd 5600x for cpu, msi tomahawk b550, amd rx 6700xt gpu, and I haven't decided on 16gb ddr4 cl16 3200 or 3600. Does anyone have any further recommendations for my build in the making, such as cpu fan and such? I'm very new and still researching as I prepare to do my first ever build. You only need to change the motherboard (b550 instead of b660). All the other parts can be exactly the same and you wont have any problems..

The best thing about the RX 6600 in 2023, with its price now down, is that it's used in a budget way but it's basically a mid range card. It isn't an RX 6500 XT and it isn't even an RTX 3050. It's outright an RTX 3060 equivalent, just 5-10% less FPS. All while being almost 100 USD cheaper in my country. You aren't compromising yourself by buying an RX 6600, it's a GPU for a proper PC.

It has poor VRM for power to the CPU and will throttle upon heavy core intensive workloads. Check out BuildPicker B660 review on here.
