Mate - You are one of if not the best example of how youtube vids on digger work (and especially making roads through back country) can be SO freaking helpful and downright inspiring.... I use a wheelchair and walking sticks and live on rural property here in Australia. it's a rainforest valley with it's fair share of rainfall and virgin lush hillsides with clay under topsoil (Not much sandstone but a few floaters) I have a CAT 308E2 i've been teaching myself to drive, gaining what skills I can to start making safe access through these hillsides. Can't get enough of your experece, enthusiasm, positive attitude in face of adversity, and your willingness to share your attention to detail! It really means alot..!! So from halfway around the world - Thank you Todd for what you do, and how you do it! BIG MACK!

Big Mack ! Big Mack ! Big Mack ! Enjoying this build. Challenging for sure. I had a similar project myself last February 2023. Didn't require and Class B, because I had access to some really good shale here in Arkansas. Fact is, those build won't be rock solid for a little while. But over the late Spring and Summer that road was as hard as any road. Hang in there, it'll surely turn out great !

Hi Todd, I watch your videos regularly. I have watched your company grow and this gives me encouragement because I am starting my own business here in Missoula Mt. I am an older gal that has wanted to do excavation since I was twenty’s. But couldn’t until now. I bought a skid steer. I bought an old excavator and I have a ford 2005 750 dump truck. Big Mack was walking a high wire there on that soft stretch. Some of the tri-axle guys I’ve seen are fearless in those trucks. I see all that weight up in the air and I get nervous for those guys. I think you fit right in there with them. Love how this one is progressing.

I like how you lay your stone using the Big Mack, (Only problem is I now feel hungry.), you were definitely right not to reverse any further as you would definitely have been in that stream. Glad the area is drying out, all be it slowly, think though that your definitely going to have to lay some tile pipe. It will definitely ensure that in future, the subbase of the road won't get saturated again. Looking at the area where it's sodden, part of me wonders, if that whole area is sitting on rock and clay, which will be why the water is not draining through the soil. It would be interesting to do a test dig in that area, just to see what's below. What you've done so far is really good, like how your not jumping to conclusions. Having worked on major building projects, whether it's roads of buildings, my go to question was always, What do we do about drainage? You'd be surprised how many people don't think about that one. 🤗👍
