Gotta make sure the LM is close enough to the acrylic, when I hade mine i placed the SQ a bit to far back and the reflection from the lights wouldn’t let it see the ball
@HoselRocketGolf16 күн бұрын
Yup! Experienced that with my original plastic container!

Is it necessary to go one step further with 4 leveling feet?
@Right197114 күн бұрын
@@acampbell3720 as long as your unit it level it shouldn’t be necessary. My hitting surface is on plywood so I’ve fastened mine to that, made sure it was level.

@@Right1971 @acampbell3720 Agreed! Personally, I don't think it's necessary but can't hurt. I haven't had any issues!

Nice job. If you find the acrylic isn't up to the task and cracks, polycarbonate , while a little less scratch resistant, will take the impact better. Just a thought.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully the acrylic doesn't have to take too many shanks 🤣

Awesome build Hosel, was just shopping for something to protect my incoming Square LM. This seems way more durable and secure than the acrylic casing I was going to purchase. Thanks for the DIY build, i think I will try to build a inner base inside the milk crate, box it in so the square stays in place about a 1/4 or less in the crate. Planning a DIY hitting mat with Sigpro insert, so might build something on the mat to secure the milk crate from moving also, probably some bolt on L shaped brackets on all 4 corners of the milk crate and attached to the mat, that should eliminate the need for the paver. The top i might do just do a cover that fit arounds and sits on top of the milk crate with a handle on top of the cover, made out of wood or aluminum, seeing that I work in a fabrication shop.

Appreciate the kind words! Sounds like you have some great add-on ideas so really curious to see what you come up with. I have seen a DIY build that has a hinge on the top cover to open/close. I like the idea of securing the crate to the mat. Just make sure the bottom of the Square is flush or slightly above your hitting surface. I have my milk crate on a section of the gym tiles which works out perfectly on height. Working in a fabrication shop, you should be able to blow mine out of the water 🤣

Looks exactly like the CONTAINER that I posted a how to on the Square Golf Facebook page. Either way all is good just hope you do not shank and hit that paver and it ricochet back at you. 😂

Yeah a pool noodle or some kind of padding is definitely in order. And I must’ve missed yours. I’ve screenshot a few but they were all wood or just the plastic food container

I have had a similar idea to this for awhile but haven't gotten around to do it yet. I had questions if the plexiglass would affect the monitor. Plus does the lip on the bottom affect the monitor. Right now I have my monitor sitting on another mat butted up to my hitting my and sometimes I feel like the crease between my two mats affect my monitor sometimes. Idk though.

So far, no noticeable affect of the plexiglass. Works great as far as I can tell. As for the lip, the second sheet of plexiglass is on the bottom of the milk crate so it sits flush!
