I’ve been binging your video since last night, I’m 27 and literally try to play the sims 3 as much as i can in the week. Usually make it to daily 😭🥳 But loving all these videos and so glad to find simmers that don’t just say “I like to build houses and then drown them.” when I tell people I play the sims 3 😅

The L shape is very versatile. I tend to use that style if I'm in a hurry. I always throw down a free wood floor throughout - except for the bathrooms, where I put a tile floor (so the wood won't warp when the toilet overflows). Then I change the floors later to something more expensive if I don't like them. I often feel overwhelmed when I start, so I begin with the bathrooms first to build my confidence, then move out to other parts of the house - also, I can often forget the bathroom if I don't do it first. Another thing I tend to forget is outdoor lighting. Maybe you can do another video using the L-shape house you created and go deeper, covering details that give a room some personality tailored to specific sims - clutter, plants, curtains, color palettes, artwork, etc. The roof part of your video is really helpful. I think that's the biggest struggle for most builders.

These are some great tips 😍 I always start with a "plan" that I lay out with that 0 § flooring. I put it on the ground to kind of see the proportions before I build a foundation. I struggle so much with the size of rooms, mostly they end up way too big. But since I use that method and lay everything out before building, my builds have gotten better. When I'm done with the flooring, I just plop the foundation on top of it and delete the flooring underneath. Maybe this helps some aspiring builders here who also sometimes struggle 🥰

Great video covering the basics. I've built a lot in S3 and my tip for everyone is this. If you undo something when in build/buy mode, you often get less back then you spent. So if you're a sloppy builder you wind up throwing a lot of money away (just like real life!). So rather than move to an empty lot and go into build/buy mode, I go to Edit Town and then pick the lot I want to move to, then build/buy in Edit Town mode, get the lot done, and then return to game and move there. That way, I don't have to be as careful with the build, because it's Edit Town so I'm not using my household's money, and I can change things in the Edit Town build to be sure it fits my household's budget.

Thought of another good beginning design tip - usually when Sims wake up, their priorities are hygiene-hunger-fun-go to work. (Bladder can go in there next to hygiene, but they can go at work too.) So I like to put the bed, shower, refrigerator, fun item (such as computer or video games) and the front door in a simple path so the Sim can follow this path efficiently. So it's bed-bath-fridge-fun-door.

I stopped playing Sims 3 due to Sims 4 but started back up since EA update the game but now have issues redownloading all my stuff I got from store, but not sure how many worlds I have it is so glitched badly, I have the dell with intel i7 graphics card, think they need to fix bugs, I own every EP and Stuff Packs, and it seems through ea app not installed all my eps sps and have troubles anyways it fun getting back into Sims 3 I also have all Sims 2 but won’t go back to sims 2 cause don’t think it will work on my higher end laptop, I shelved that game as many old games I did. Thank you for sharing building, don’t like working with roofing in Sims 3. 😊

What do you use for no lag or freezing when you use t'he style tool???
@CjplaysYT Жыл бұрын
It still lags for me sometimes what I’ll do is I’ll switch between build and buy mode and that’ll usually fix the issue.
