Here are some reasons which come to mind... - Landing pages affiliated with sales campaigns may be specific to certain audiences such as email/newsletter recipients and not intended for a general audience. - Landing pages generated in bulk, with variations for the purpose of conversion rate testing. - Not wanting to dilute overall site SEO by adding pages which water down the overall SEO effort It depends on the use case, but SEO plugins usually make it easy to no-index select content as desired.
