That's a good tip on the roof metal with that profile that some may not know. The newer "delta-rib" profiles specify putting the neoprene washer screws in the flats. The old style you have should definitely be fastened on the ridges. Nice project, it will serve you well. In my neck of the woods we can get well over two feet of snow (at one snowfall), so we have to consider the weight of that, particularly if it rains afterwards or a wet snowfall occurs. This week, it's gonna get over 100 F... Yep, we get four distinct seasons here.
