Thanks! Yes I would add another small 2x4 piece to make the top slots into full mortises. I had to screw in the top rack boards after I filmed since they would just fall out with any sort of load on them.

I saw another video recently where someone made a similar 'sandwich' for a wood rack -- but with plywood on either side of 2x4 blocks

Great catch! After filming I be added 2 beefy screws to each side of each top arm and now it’s good to go.
