Brilliant as usual. I’ve just watched this cried my eyes out all the way through. My partner wanted to build one of these for us but sadly I lost him to cancer last summer. His friend said he’d make it for me and I won’t say publicly what I have. It ain’t like your one. No beautiful joints, or square. It cost me a fortune too. Your one is amazing. Even though I’m a tad sad, you guys make me smile. I’m so pleased you show everyone how it’s done. AND with banter too x

a carpenter could do this on the ground and make it mm perfect with a tad more detail. not taking anything away from these boys of course, still a good job no doubt.

Nice pergola. When I have lots of little patterns like that, I find it easier to do one pass with the router on one side, use a jigsaw to roughly cut it to the pattern leaving about 3mm and then flip it over and use a flush cut bit to finish the rough cut part to match the first pass, saves doing a lot of router passes and leaves a nice finish. You can also batch it, so one pass with the router on all, jigsaw on all, flush cut on all

I realise it may just not be on the video but it doesn't look like you treated any of the cut ends, tenons, lap joints, mortices with wood preserver. Barrattine Cut End Preserver would be perfect for that. Pressure treatment only goes a few mm into the wood so if you cut the end, notch out etc you expose untreated wood. There's no glue in those joints so water will track in and the tenons will rot off if not treated.
