This helped me so much I had built a ramp by myself and it was 3 foot tall but I had a four foot radius and it was way to steep but now I have a new radius and it’s was better

SPORTY PANTS normal
@strikeforcek9149
@strikeforcek9149 7 жыл бұрын
SPORTY PANTS - THE plywood sides of the ramp are 3/4" plywood (preferably sheathing/hardwood, but OSB Ply will do for short duration builds or indoors and using screws). The "ribs" (the sideways supports that go from left to right, that the riding surface gets screwed to) are 2x6's that are spaced out every 8-inches. The riding surface is going to be 2 layers of 3/8" plywood. Put the first 3/8" plywood layer on, and fasten it down the edges and one row of nails/screws in the middle. Then, the second layer of 3/8" plywood should be REALLY fastened down with 4 rows of screws (This also helps secure the first layer better too). * OUTDOOR: If your ramp is gonna be outside, use treated lumber for the base of the structure, and use a mask when cutting it (treated liner has some chemicals in it gross for your health if inhaled). Then primer the edges of ALL plywood and 2x6's after you cut them, and then paint the riding surface with 3 nice and heavy coats of outdoor paint. It also helps if you mix 1/3-cup of CLEAN sand per gallon of paint. *INDOOR: If your ramp wool be indoors, you can use regular ply. *Using screws will help increase the structural integrity of your ramp, and it will also reduce the amount of flexibility within the ramp. BUT, it takes a lot more time to build while using only screws unless you have an automatic screw-gun. *For most ramps, you typically want to use an 8' radius as your "go to" radius of choice. For mellower/slower ramp speed, use a longer radius like 8.5, 9, or 10'. For a steeper/faster ramp, use a shorter radius like 7.5, 7, or 6.5' radius. **The # radius you use (the length of the radius), means that at that #'s height vert will begin. ie- am 8' radius means the ramp curves up until it reaches 8' high, and from 8' high and taller you would want to use just vertical wall for smooth mini/Vert ramp style of transition. For any other questions, feel free to ask. I grew up riding with, and have built ramps under, Nate Wessel (the guy info the video). Yes, I've also grew up riding with, and hung out with, Adam Banton (the guy who helped Nate in the video). They're both very amazingly generous, kind, and rad people without all the "ego" and bs like many of today's riders have. :)
