Hey man thank you very much for this tutorial and all the tutorials you do! I put 6 of these in my hotel! And I even figured out a recall function for each floor. by continuing power from the side of the up or down down function right before the Piston or off the Piston that goes down to the observer with Piston and slime block, you can run a individual redstone line to either the floor above or below and continue to other floors for a button. I had to put a button for the up and down function on the wall outside the elevator for each individual floor and ran a power line from the signal at the doors on each floor to a redstone lamp above the buttons to let you know what floor it is on. You still have to operate it just like inside the elevator if your on the 3rd floor and the lamp signals the elevator is on the first floor you simply hit the up button running to the first floor up function it will go up to the second floor and when it arrives the doors open the lamp comes on for the second floor and you hit the button with the individual line to the second floor up function and it will bring it to the third floor. If the lamp signals elevator is floor avove simply hit button running to that floors down function and elevator comes down! Adding these functions on makes it a bit bigger however I still jammed it into a 12 by 16 space. But only went up four floors with that build. and it gets bigger floor by floor because you have to do a up and down function for every floor above and below. But totally worth it if you got the space. And I'm a redstone noob so I'm sure it can be condensed down quite further! Thanks again man for all your genius ideas! I'm doing a massive build for my Niece and nephew and all your cool stuff really helps bring the world to Life!

I've built a 3 story elevator. At first it went up and down between floors 1 & 2 just fine. It went up from 2 to 3 fine, then back down to 2 without a problem. It won't return to floor 1. I've torn it apart and rebuilt it a couple of times but still get the same results. Bedrock 1.18 on PS4.

For anyone having trouble, consider that you may have placed a STICKY piston instead of a NORMAL piston on the elevator (there's one of each).

I believe you can do a recall, though you need it to track what floor it's on and what recall button is being pressed to send it to that position. In a way, I was thinking of having each floor be a key, or contain a certain amount with the recall machine, that will activate a certain part of the elevator so nothing else occurs/making mistakes.

ahhh this was the real video ive been looking for, i have recently re watched the original running of iCarly so i can catch up on the revival and i thought why not build that insane 3 level Apartment 8-C that we all as kids dreamed to live in one day in minecraft and i began thinking wouldnt it be awesome if i included a real elevator to bring you from the living room to the iconic iCarly web show studio just like in the show and this video helped me do just that thank you and cant wait to finish this build

I have built it exactly as you have shown and I'm coming across an issue with the glazed terracotta and a sticky piston being left behind. I'm using the Minecraft game on Xbox that allows you to play with people on Minecraft pocket edition

I think glazed terracotta messes with the slime blocks and sticky piston. I don't know if it sticks or not. I've heard that's an issue, but I'm not sure

ok i’m not even kidding when i tell you i tried over 30 elevators and none of them worked. i tried this one and it worked perfectly and so smoothly and i’m so happy!! thank you! edit: the only issue i do have is that i have to switch the observer at the very bottom of the first circuit thing in order for it to work but it’s not too bad 🤷‍♀️

I tried to follow this, and the first floor going up worked, but the second floor going down does not work....also, it seems really hard placing observers in front of furnaces without the furnace wanting me to put something in it.
