HOW TO BUILD A OFF-ROAD MOWER (PART 3) 100% CUSTOM FRONT AXLE AND STEERING SETUP

Part 3 I get my 100% custom front axle built!
I was lucky enough to find some Chevy tracker/sidekick centre link and tie rod and modify them to work as my steering arm and tie rod. And damn that’s a whole lot of beef!
The front axle turned out amazing!
Having a spindle knuckle with 5/8 ID 40mm OD and 7/8th spindles is one hell of a upgrade!
Next thing to do it get my motor mounted and a hint hint new front bumper/winch setup.

Wow those spindle shackles are seriously BULLETPROOF!!!! That front beam is massive. I have not gotten to that point in my build because I found a yamaha ytm 200 chain drive that I found in the scrap yard when I was there and just had to buy it for $25. Now I add that to my projects, A 19770's Porsche 914 GT6 factory race car, a craftsman GT18 all terrain mower (in progress), YTM 200 chain drive and an XS650 bobber for a bar hopper and the trip to California and then down to the Baja in Mexico for the "El Diablo Run". Hopefully those are angular contact ball bearings otherwise they won't last long... A trick for near bullet proof lawn/garden tractor spindles is to use 2sets of tapered roller trailer hubs and spindles... 1st set of Hubs facing cap up cut the hub wheel flange 1/2-3/4 way around (this gets welded uncut section towards axle beam) the uncut section gets used as your axle steering stop as well and as a lower spindle to beam brace (I use 4x2x1/4 wall rectangular steel tubing for steer axle beams and put the side to side pivot through the axle 3/4of the way up from the bottom of the steer axle beam... Also using a longer pivot tube and pin will reduce the axle beams desire to rotate forward and backward and twist left and right as the pivot wears).the second set of trailer hubs gets used to mount the steer tires by welding spindle pivot axle stub to wheel hub spindle
