@@AndersFlanderzOneManBand sadly not! I play keyboards and synths but I don't own an accordion. It's a dream of mine though. I once worked at an old man's house and he had one, he could hardly walk but oh could he still play that accordion! I had a go and was surprised how heavy it was. Guess what I played on it? (or at least tried to) My own version of your cover of 'I want to know what love is' 😁 it still my favourite piece of music ever 👍
@AndersFlanderzOneManBand2 жыл бұрын
@@underdogg87 You must pick one up!! A lovely story about the old man and the song you played - I'm STILL gonna record it one day you know! Nowadays people try to get the smaller, lighter ones mostly, if it's second hand anyway cause the older ones are heavier no matter size, there are those massive older accordions that weigh a ton and cover half you, was it one of those? New made ones today can be bigger but still not too heavy but then they cost 10 times more. What music do you make on the synths?!
@underdogg872 жыл бұрын
@@AndersFlanderzOneManBand oh yes this was big old beautiful heavy thing I played,and it did indeed cover all of my torso 😁 I was struck immediately by the difficulty of working the bellow (not sure if that's the right phrase) you make it look so easy! And as for my synths.... I would call it 'space wave' if that's not a genre it is now! Kind of like a slower paced drum and bass but heavy on the synth sounds too. Also influenced heavily by my love of folk music for the melodies :) Oh a quick edit: I honestly can't wait for you to record that amazing song.... It will be worth the wait my friend I know you are a busy man! The way you drone those chords out on the accordion, the vocals, the drumbeat.... Its all just perfect 👌
@AndersFlanderzOneManBand2 жыл бұрын
@@underdogg87 Working the bellows is easier than it looks, yes, the first time you try it it's not easy, but it comes very naturally very quickly! Like the pedals riding a bicycle. Or something. Space Wave is here! Where can we hear it?! What kind of Folk music are you into? That song I will record, but I warn you, it will probably not live up to your expectations since first impression is always the best isn't it!

What I can't figure out is how he goes completely wireless to his amp? Are all the electronics on his back battery powered? Even the mixer? I also am impressed that I am getting the feeling that he taught himself all of the instruments fairly recently, I always assumed that he learned accordian when he was a kid.

Those questions will actually be answered in the next and final part of this series, out not so long from now! Started to fake it on the accordion in 2005.

So, i know have the frame at home. I just found out, that most hihat would not allow to remove the feet, aswell as the pedal. i just found one hihat that was screwed together but i was an hour late to buy. but if i won't find another one that is easy to dismantle, i will just have to saw the unnecessary parts off. another thing i realized is, that an accordion really seems to be a perfect fit for an one-man-band. i own a concertina and thought of using it, but it has no buttons that play an entire chord and the buttons play different notes when pushed and pulled. i guess, this would make things just harder. your set-up actually feels really well put together the more i think about it, but i dont just want to create an anders-flanderz-rip off. ^^ well... i will see what direction this project will take. it will take some weeks, i guess, as i'm not in a hurry, but at least i have already started. thanks for the videos, anders!

Saw it, duct tape it, cable tie, do whatever it takes!! And remember - never worry about being a copy!! To copy is how we learn to speak when we are little, and it's the same with everything, copy me! Or not, if you don't want to, but remember I am just honoured if you do. accordion is super boss in a one man band yes, but concertina is almighty boss too, depending on what music you wanna make I suppose??

Just a heads up on mobile devices. Wanted you to know that more than 50% of the devices on the web are now mobile. That's why YT is presenting more of these short vertical videos. They seem annoying, and of a lower quality, if you're on a big screen but I've seen channels take advantage of this trend and actually double their subscriber numbers. Just thought you should know about it.
