@SimonSaysDIY2 жыл бұрын
It can be difficult and I actually lived in this house for 2 years before I noticed it. I was able to check the room on the back side of this empty space and I measured it out and it was missing 2 feet of space. I also have a basement and was able to go below and make sure that there wasn't a chimney, pipes, wiring, or Air Ducts running through the space. Thanks!

@SimonSaysDIY4 жыл бұрын
Good luck with your project! The door jams were mounted to the studs I installed to frame in the new door way. I used finish nails to mount the door jams. I also used long screws on the door hinges that reached to the stud as well.

Hi! This was an awesome video. I would like to have this done in my kitchen, but not sure if there is an open space to place it. How would I find out?
@SimonSaysDIY4 жыл бұрын
That is hard to answer without seeing the space you have. However, if you have a conner in the room that is not being used it can be a great place to install one or if you have a floor kitchen cabinet that can be removed, just remove one section and replace it with a floor to ceiling cabinet/pantry. Doing this would likely triple your storage space from the section.
