It took me almost 2 hours to watch this 47 minute video. Within the first 10 minutes i was crying...stopped and cried 5 more minutes in...took notes... hit the back button to listen again and again before moving forward to finally come to the end and stop again with the grandmother story which made me cry harder tears. Lisa has me in tears. Because my Mom was a day worker too. Mom cleaned hotels, motels, private homes and apartments. She and my Dad were never given anything they worked hard their entire life and if they had 5.00 to put into their savings account they did. They sacrificed so we cold move into a better neighborhood. That's why I get madder than hell at my daughter when she disrespect me. I've been sacrificing for her for 31 years now. How dare she disrespect me! When she disrespects me, she is disrespecting all my ancestors, the shoulders upon which she stands. Maybe because she's 31 and doesn't have a child, she doesn't get it. Maybe she never will. But the disrespect is going to stop.

Maybe there is pain within that disrespect...something you may be unaware of...if you ask the right questions humble ego maybe she will tell you...my mom considered me disrespectful but it's because she never listened to me....she never HEARD me, so I didnt tell her my true pain until I went to therapy, even though I'm sure I was wrong I felt like she didnt truly love me no matter how much she physically sacraficed and gave to me, in my mind my love was not for purchase...sometimes when we grow up not having anything we try to physically provide for our kids and think that's enough, they need our emotional self...I'm 31 btw with a child so I understand the fine line of motherhood...I do hope you and your daughter work things out...
