Second part in the series of building a no weld recumbent trike. Starting near the front with the steering parts and how to make them.
Building the components with Flatbar steel, Pillar Drills, Bending Machines and no swearing even when things go wrong.
Come for the aesthetic metal cutting shots, stay for the out of control power drills and broken screw taps.
01:23 Tie bar Linkage
08:58 Top and Bottom Mounting Bracket
10:10 Steering Knuckles
16:53 Cut a King Pin
17:04 Final Modifications
Notes:
M8 tapped hole could be a 3/8" or 7/16" UNC
Kingpin tubing is 25mm diameter (wall thickness 2mm) so 1" x 0.065" or 0.083" would be fine
Top and bottom steering brackets with the 28mm hole also require bending
