I understand you guys are promoting your product, but your videos are highly underrated. You are talking about one of the most essential products ever used and needed by man. Cordage and rope was a mainstay of prehistoric humans and its use is still necessary in the modern era. Practicing knots with a rope is a form of meditation for the wise.

This was very descriptive and informative! Thank you sir! ❤I reallllly think I could do this myself… I’m wanting to do about 200 yards on each side of our walkway .. and attach some lights to the top of post or maybe zigzag some string lights .. or both 😅 depending on our budget 😂 might have to hit up our local cotton mill to see if I could get some rope from them cheap

I've been trying to find a better way to make a portion of my planned rope railing 'removable' so I can take a section off when the dock goes in in the summer. Do you have any ideas for something like this? The current look will be square posts drilled straight through, with 3/2" manilla rope.
@RightRopeOfficial
@RightRopeOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
We have seen people put an eye splice on the ends of a rope and put the loops over the top of the posts. Also some people use hardware to hang the rope in place, or install hooks on the ends like in theater crowd control.
@amarko87
@amarko87 2 жыл бұрын
@@RightRopeOfficial I was thinking that a splice could work for the top rope, but since it's also going into a corner, the bottom will have to be done differently, as an eye splice won't be able to go over the other. Thanks for the ideas!

How far do you recommend the post spacing and height of rope off ground for top rope, on average.
@RightRopeOfficial
@RightRopeOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, the spacing and rope height is all about what looks good to you. The posts in this video were about 7 feet apart and the holes were drilled about 42 and 21 inches above the ground.

Hi, is there a video on how to secure those posts to ground.. trying to use it to divide a concrete driveway , neighbors and ours. Wants to keep the pole looking clean because I can't put anything on the ground to hide the bottom of the poles. Thanks

Thank you for this very detailed video, it gives me hope being able to tackle my project to install stair railings with ropes. Just let me ask you a question when you don't mind. ...How do you drill the holes into the post for stair railing for the ropes? Horizontal or in an angle? Thank you again. G
@RightRopeOfficial
@RightRopeOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. It is definitely easier to drill square through the post instead of at the angle and it will look good either way. If you are pulling the rope tight, the angle looks better, but if you are allowing some sag in between posts, drilling square looks good.

For a 1 1/2 inch cotton rope would I use a 1 1/2 inch bracket? The rope fits in a 1 3/8 hole and probably a 1 1/4. should I still get 1 1/2 bracket of 1 1/4?

@@RightRopeOfficial Do I do anything with the end of the rope, or just screw in the bracket and insert screw? How well do they hold? Do I buy the same diameter bracket as the rope diameter? I live in Grand Rapids. Does it have to ship or can I pick it up?
@RightRopeOfficial
@RightRopeOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@toddott633we are quite a bit outside of Grand Rapids, so I recommend shipping! And the bracket just needs the rope to be placed inside, and then the screw to be screwed into the rope. It should hold well :)

@RightRopeOfficial
@RightRopeOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
If you are using natural fiber rope, you need to add 10-15% extra length/sag so that it doesn't happen. If it is too late for that, meaning this is actually already happening to you because the rope is too short, there isn't much you can do about it unfortunately. We recommend using the synthetic ropes for this reason.
