If you're taking on models for free, you need to be really selective. Remember, you are selling beauty. That means you need to screen your models. And stay away from problematic models who are needy and wishy washy. They will write you bad reviews.

I have a good clientele and I feel that everyone knows me for my blonding techniques and color corrections, but I still want more. I want more bookings and I want to be booked out a couple months at a time at least. I don't want to use models at all because I feel that I already post a good amount of pictures that will bring in my ideal clients. I'm wondering if at this point my main focus has been on Instagram this whole time and if maybe I need to be doing something extra. I've spent a lot of money on ads and I feel that only a handful of clients came from it.

I feel like my niche is women’s color, which I know is broad, but I don’t like doing the same thing for everyone. For me I like to offer my client endless possibilities so they don’t go somewhere else once they are tired of blonde or balayage. Did you get bored doing the same service for every client?
@LaurenFrancesHair5 жыл бұрын
Hey! That’s ok! No I actually loved it. But the beauty of specializing in something specific is you know that job so well, that it really isn’t the same all the time. Every client is still different and requires different techniques to achieve what they want. You just get better at understanding the nuances when you specialize. However your specialty doesn’t have to necessarily be specific in that way. But you do have to have some way that you differentiate yourself from other stylists. That is where branding comes in. I might focus on what makes your process for hair color different and beneficial. And start building a personal brand around that. That is one way to niche down as well ✌🏻

Thanks!

Hey! I would approach my boss with a plan to grow my clientele and make sure to offer to pay for what I am using and do the work outside of my scheduled hours. If he/ she still doesn’t want me doing that, I would do it at home. ❤️

I love this and have a question. When finding and recruiting models how do you have that conversation/ do that when you are a commission stylist. Maybe I’m over thinking it but at my salon we give 40% off on my services since I’m an apprentice, and I’m not willing to pay the difference for the service I can’t afford it. I could afford to pay product for them but how can I be able to do that when a paying client could be sitting in my chair, it’s just not feasible to my owner.

@LaurenFrancesHair3 жыл бұрын
Should models for clothing companies pay to be in their advertisements? Because models get paid a lot of money to be in those photos. This isn’t about giving away your time to anyone who asks. This is about finding specific people to represent your work well so you can advertise. They are working for you.
@spiggly19683 жыл бұрын
@@LaurenFrancesHair are the models you're referencing professionals who know how to wear a look and how to represent your brand? Or random people you meet? I'm not knocking your approach, just don't think it makes sense for most burgeoning creatives.
