I've stuck alot of 4" foam on big commercial projects down here in south fla. Some being parex systems and some being Dryvit systems. Some were 1/2" stucco systems. Mesh, polymer base coat (thinset), aquagard, the whole nine. Two applications each system. Somtimes three if the architect really wanted to cover himself. But it's always just a matter of time before moisture and humidity have there way to separate that bond between mud and foam. I'd be pretty skeptical putting that foam in my shower. Especially as the bench. You do nice work though brother. Keep it up.

Isaac Ostrom well, if you use DSLR, those in live view mode had to use slow method, which is based on contrast fluctuation to find the right focus, DSLR can’t use its AF sensor (super fast and accurate) as it works in conjunction with mirror, which is unavailable with live view. It makes more sense to use action camera If you do a lot of close up shots in cramped spaces (like bathroom). I don’t say that DSLR has no use, but genre of how to videos implies a lot of close up, which in case of DSLR needs prestage work to get quality picture.
@BlahBlahManYeah5 жыл бұрын
Isaac Ostrom , yes, something like YI+ or last generation GoPro with gimbal will be much more suitable setup. For instance, the scene where you demoing assemble of shower bench, your head is cut-off most of scenes as you hitting limits of 18mm (the max zoom out of your lenses), which in reality of 80D crop factor, that has no full frame sensor, turns into 35mm. My understanding you went with 2.8f to cope with low light. Something like YI 4K series or recent generations of GoPro are decent in low light and better suited for this type of action, also fraction of your setup cost. Yes, those don’t have zoom, so cameraman has to move more for zoom in/zoom outs. DSLR lessens with big opening shines with DOF effect, and less distortion which would work better in prestaged setup, like talking sessions.

I wanted to see how you water proofed it. I am doing something similar. You mentioned using Kerti band. I believe this to be 5.5" wide but the board is 2" thick. So, how is the 2" over lap achieved? Then what is the purpose of the fleece? Not a lot sticks to polyethylene.

My dewalt stuff is clearly better. I have had multiple use my dewalt tools and go out and buy them once their current tools wore out. I hated jumping on the dewalt bandwagon.
