So much cheaper than our current "proportioner in a box". The trouble we have experienced with manufactured proportioners is repair time. If we get a leaking check valve or anything that could be a quick swap-out, the entire unit has to be disassembled to access it. Moving forward we build our own. Thanks Mike, for all of the great information you share on here.

Great video! I just went to Amazon and bought most parts. One or 2 is out of stock and a few of the things were outrageous in pricing. Like 24 bucks for a nipple, I found through another seller for like 6 bucks. The pentair metering valves we're 50 from this link but 30 through another vendor. Price increase is probably due to the "plastic shortage" from covid.. All in I was at like $175-180. I bought a couple of the extra barbed fittings just in case I brake one. Just a heads up. I really appreciate the content! I'm excited about getting into roof washing. I'm a Roof Maxx dealer so I'm hoping this will mesh nicely!

Mr. Nick Thanks. I do not have this plumbed directly into the tanks, I have drop lines with stainless filters so I am able to pull out the The line that goes into the SH and drop it in the H2O tank to flush which illuminates the need for another valve, decreasing cost and possible malfunction

Awesome & to the point video. Being new to the business, the ratio chart is great. How would you calculate the amount of SH hitting the surface when using 10% SH?
@AllAboutPressureWashing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and good luck with the new business. If you look at the chart and you had an undiluted tank of 10% SH and set the valve dial to "1" and also on "1" for your H2O, you would be diluting it by 50%. If you wanted to increase the amount of SH for a stronger/hotter mix, you would turn the dial up on the SH side - so put the SH dial at "2" and leave the H2O dial at "1" and you would have a 67% SH : 33% H2O ratio.
@hsilva32133 жыл бұрын
So if both set to 1 your mix would be 5% hot using 10%SH. Ove been told to always run H2O valve wide open. So I'm sure if they are both wide open you will still achieve 5% close SH valve to maybe half and you would have a 2.5% mix??? Just going off valve position not really numbers.

Great video Mike but, why have you moved to gas only? What's the main advantage(s) of gas over air? Thanks
@AllAboutPressureWashing4 жыл бұрын
Great Question and honestly it is just a personal choice, I know lots of guys swear by whatever system they are running. I have had 12v pumps that have a limited life span, blow fuses and have a hard time priming, they are effective and work fine but I wanted something a little more reliable. I went to air diaphragm pumps for a very short time, work well but again there are more "moving parts" with a compressor. Finally have moved to the 11.4 GPM @ 290 PSI, Honda GX200, with AR45LFP pump. This thing is a beast, only down side is having to batch mix but that really isn't that big of a deal.

Ok I'm new to this and been watching many videos on how accurate these valves are. From what I'm seeing the 150$ valve isn't any real difference than a 3$ one. I'm thinking the only real way would be to run half inch water. One half inch for SH, then a 3/8 for SH then a 1/4 for SH and each have a cheaper ball valve up sized so they only restriction is the hose size. So basically useing restriction that you can control to get a proper metering. Just open which ever ball valve for the ratio you want.

What do you think about this idea boss. From what I can tell your about as knowledgeable as one can get on this softwash stuff. Thanks for all the videos. What number on proportioner do you put for surfactant on roofs

It just depends on the pitch of the roof, how dirty it is, lots of things. You’ll just have to play with it and figure out what works best for you.
