Great work so far Andy, and we'll done with the explanations. How are you dealing with your door (composition, sound proofing/gaskets/sealing), and where did you get the cable pass-thru & how are you preventing sound leakage?
@AndyFieldVoiceActor3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm responding so late! I put two exterior steel-clad doors with weatherstripping. And I built the pass through! I just stuffed some foam in it once I had all of my cables in it. In my last booth I built this fancy pass through cover, and it didn't do anything.

@@AndyFieldVoiceActor Got it. Thanks, Andy. My entrance won't be as elaborate and pass-through I'm doing something similar (just a pvc pipe stuffed with Roxul). No ventilation at this point so I'm hoping there's enough oxygen inside so I don't pass out after 20-minutes! LOL

Imagine u have online class in zoom n ur teacher says u have echo And u say this: NO MY ROOM IS SOUNDPROOFED
@AndyFieldVoiceActor4 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome! However, soundproofing won't stop echo - it will just stop outside sounds from coming in. It's important, but sound TREATMENT is also very important! Stay tuned for future videos about the echo!

Won't the vinyl sheets act as reflectors ? Seems like a bad idea to me.

You asked this question on Facebook too. I will answer you a second time here for the benefit of KZbin readers. No, the MLV is lining the cavity inside the wall, behind both layers of Roxul. From the outside traveling inside, it is sheetrock, insulation, MLV, air, MLV, insulation, sheetrock, green glue, sheetrock. If you shrunk yourself to a quarter inch and walked around in that less than 1 inch gap, the acoustics in there would indeed be terrible. But if you could shrink yourself to a quarter inch, you need to use that power for good instead of walking around inside people's walls.
@AndyFieldVoiceActor4 жыл бұрын
BUT, you could line the cavity with any duct lining material to a) prevent any particles from making it into the booth and b) prevent mold from forming on the inside of the insulation.
