I saw a new hope in 1977 with my brother when i was 6 years old, have David Prowes and Kenny Bakers autografs on my vinyl record with the original movie soundtrack,have talked to them when they were at sci fi world convent in Gothenburg sweden.After that time with my brother watching star wars i was hooked,a whole new fantasy world opend up to me,and star wars has been in my heart ever sens,having a star wars game room would be a dream come true! This was great! I'm a musician and building a small home in the hills of Mariposa California next year in 2020. I really love STAR WARS and always wanted something like this in my life, my space. One of the rooms in my new home will be a music studio. I have lots of equipment and thought it would be nice to set that stuff up in a place I would really want to be in all the time. It would be more interesting to have this place I'm going to spend many hours working in if it was just a hint of what I'm seeing in this video. I don't want to look of the typical studio, I want more. I'm not sure yet what I can do but thanks for the inspiration and I will be watching...

Dude I know EXACTLY what you experienced in starting with one corner of your basement and having the irresistible urge to expand and improve on the theme. I got the itch to do the Tower of Terror Basement elevator entrance for the Disney ride. It started with theming one wall being the entrance to my home theater, and then I began thinking about expanding to another wall with the Boiler room motif. But I was able to stop myself with the realization that it MAY not really help the value of my home to turn a nice modern indoor BBQ patio into a dungeon-looking dark room with spider webs and spooky sounds. Anyway so it is possible to control the urges. But if it gives you satisfaction, it is really cool. Thanks for sharing.

While I'm a huge STAR WARS fan, it will be easier to transform my basement into the hallways and various rooms seen on the set of NCIS. I live in what used to be a church, and the basement was where the Sunday school classrooms, boys bathroom, girls bathroom and the kitchen were.

My basement consists of a "T" hallway with rooms on either side of the vertical part of the "T" and the two bathrooms and the kitchen on the horizontal part of the "T". There are stairs at the right end of the horizontal part of the "T" and to the right at the end of the vertical part of the "T". My plan would be to replace the stairs with ramps, inspired by the ramps in the MTAC set. Two of the rooms and the kitchen have two doors so it would be cool to make two different door plaques giving the impression they are two different rooms. I'm going to call the NCIS production office, I have a contact of sorts, and see if I can get the color code and brand of the different color paints used, the manufacturer of the doors, etc.

I had no idea there is a "movement" to try to replicate movie sets in homes. Something for other guys to put on their list if for example they're building home theatre rooms with a theme. And want to do something unique in the lobby area just outside the HT room. BUT...something to consider. Unless we know we're going to stay in the home forever...it might not be the best idea. Would be a shame to spend the time it took to do this...only to hve to take it all down....or not be able to sell the home. As much as I truly love this idea. This is something to consider as well. Home resale value. Even if it's not doing a SW theme basement...any addition we do to our homes has to (or should) up the resale value and not be a waste of money. Or prevent the future sale...or slow the sale...and cost us to get the home to BE "buyable".

Hi there, thank you! The video clip you are referring to is actually from my buddy Greg from his channel. He build a full scale Falcon cockpit. Those buttons are actually laser cut plexi-glass squares that are lit up from behind. I am not sure what LED or light source he used. We are going to do some of that work here on the next part of our room build in next months Star Wars Room Build Part 8.

Congratulations on an amazing project! I just found this today and im really inspired! I particularly like the 3D mocks you have presented and love the slightly new direction in the room. I have a quick question - do you have an idea of what the flooring will be like yet? Im in the process of doing my office / mancave at the moment. Originally it was going to be Tron Legacy themed and is currently very clean in a mixture of gloss and matte black, with some lighting. The desk and shelves are all integrated custom builds. Ive been thinking for a while now to completely re-do it in either a Millennium Falcom theme or Tatooine theme. It would be great to hear your thoughts on flooring and wall paneling (the basics) before i set to the details.

First of all thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, it means a great deal to us. Your project sounds amazing! The Tron theme would be a great room, as would your other ideas. I hope you share your project somewhere we can check it out. The flooring for our room will be carpet tiles. We've been all over the map trying to decide what would be best, but the carpet tiles seem to be a perfect fit. They come in all kinds of colors and patters. Its not the cheapest solution, but it's very versatile and easy to install.
