This video shows the steps and some of the processes needed to build my original a travel guitar. Since this build some two years earlier, I have improved the design and manufactured a CNC machine, learnt a 3d program to make a more professional looking guitar.

So a truss rod or even a t-bar to stabilize the neck would be a good addition. Another suggestion would be to use locking tuners as on the current setup the tuning buttons come in contact with the players body and will effect tuning stability.

Good points, neck stability seems pretty good even over approximately 4 years I guess this is due to much reduced string tension. I like the idea of locking tuners even though I've not notice a problem I'm sure other players might.

What's the name of that type of bridge? Also if you where to do do it again what would you change?

This one as you saw was built by hand, since then I have made 4 more. I knew my limitations so during lockdown I built a CNC router machine to help me develop them. The last one is the best. I hope to get back to it soon.

Your excellent video has inspired me to build a guitar similar to yours. My main question is what type of wood did you use and what size was the starting size of the piece of wood you used please? I am also looking through your other videos for your other guitar builds. Thanks!!!

If you make the as short as these are, it's very very very important to get the string heights as low as possible of course without buzzing. Good luck 😃

I have watched this a few times and enjoyed the video a lot, however I keep forgetting to ask you where you got that nut and the tuning machines? Thanks!

Hi Keith, all the parts I found on eBay or AliExpress. The wood is beech. I have since built a CNC router machine to make more professional versions and have built another 5.

What angle did you use to cut the fret board
@DesAcetek
@DesAcetek 3 жыл бұрын
This was an interesting question which made me think, and realised I never knew the angle. I drew the guitar on cad knowing the nut size and the bridge sizes. The nut was 45mm wide and the bridge was around 80mm. Once drawn I had all the measurements and never needed to know the angle. If you were building this guitar, just buy a set of frets gap them out correctly and you will never need the angle either. Since this video I have taking things to a new level and have started manufacturing, but here is a video link to the sound of the actual original one in the video you have just seen. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ6kioKegaulaMU hope you like it.
