I was really surprised to see that you didn't drywall the ceiling first. I was always taught that that was the correct way to do drywall.

Always frame first then drywall ceiling, but I didn’t use drywall for the ceiling.

@@ArtisanMade ahhhh OK got it. That makes sense. I should have known that since you took down a drop ceiling.

You’ll find the investment in a later level to be really handy. I’ve used mine for so many different things.

You’re right! I actually ended up buying one and I use it all the time. Huge time saver.

Thank you for your video! Do you recommend any type of blocking before sheetrock?
@ArtisanMade2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it is necessary

I was just coming to ask this. The person I’m building a closet for is a clothes hound and regularly pulls wall mounted closets out of the wall. I think I’m going to add blocking.

I just came across this and it seems like a quick and easy way to frame a wall with the steel stud as a plate. Are there any issues with code compliance?
@ArtisanMade3 жыл бұрын
Codes can be very complicated. Rules are different in every town. Not sure about these walls that are non-load bearing

I hope he used primer on that drywall before he painted it

Interesting, but here is a safety issue I have noticed here. I see that your electric baseboard heater covers the two sections, and it's separated in the middle of your wall. This is the worst idea ever pal. Those heating units, as you know, it produces heat, and nothing most been in front of the heating elements. This is a real fire hazard, any real professional electrician can tell you that.
@ArtisanMade2 жыл бұрын
Those are not electric, they only have water in them heated by an oil burner in another room. If they were electric, it would have been better because it would have been very easy to remove a section.

I understand why he is using ceramic tile in a basement, but this type of tile is not inexpensive
@ArtisanMade7 ай бұрын
Actually, This was one of the cheapest tiles available. I paid $1.20 per square foot.
