How to Build a Whelping Pen (Super Easy)

Build a box for your new born puppies and mom with a rail around the inside so no puppies get stuck between mom and the pen. Very quick and easy to build and take apart for cleaning. Just put some bedding underneath and you're good to go.
Whelping Crate Supplies:
1x 4x8 plywood (smooth one side)
3x 2x4s
1.5" screws
2x hinges
1x bolt latch
1/2" screws
Tools
impact driver
Tape measure
Pencil
Straight edge/level
Skill saw
Jigsaw

If mom isn't too rough half inch should still be ok. Doesn't hurt to bump it up a little to 5/8. Or just put a rail at the top early for extra support.

I've never had that problem and getting squished by mom is a much bigger risk which is why they're in there.
