Thank you for posting this video. I made 2 of these. I modified the dimensions to make them shorter. I painted them an evergreen and added lights to them. They will sit on my front porch steps when I put up my xmas lights

Nice project. If you assemble the sides first you can have all the screws on the inside. Then screw the top together.
@woodcraftblueprints Жыл бұрын
Yes but if one piece gets off the overlap mark, its very noticeable and it's too late to fix it
@brianfaust8714 Жыл бұрын
Just make a jig that allows the pieces to be assembled with exact spacing each time. No need to mark pieces, and speeds up the process.

Fun project. Very informative throughout. Most KZbinrs fail on that when they post their videos. I would like to add instead of using screws, use wood glue and 2.5 inch brad nails. Makes the build much faster. If you're comfortable using screws, pre drill your holes and use a countersink bit. Not critiquing just helpful advice. Look forward to seeing all your future builds

I prefer the screws with 2x lumber projects. Wood glue is only strongest after being clamped

Great project! Well done! FYI,,,, if you want to remove pencil marks and don't want to send or can't send, you can use denatured alcohol either on a rag or a paper towel and just rub it right out and comes right off.

Nice job with the this. I'm going to make some but use wood glue and 18 gauge brad nails instead of screws
@woodcraftblueprints3 ай бұрын
I don't know if brad nails would be strong enough, the wood glue is yes but you'll have to clamp them

Really enjoyed your 2 X 4 tree plans, especially the taller height. Like the use of 45 degree angles for top of tree pieces. Great Job!

Fun project. I grabbed the diagram you have on instagram and made a tree this evening after work. Wish I had watched the video first though because i didn't think to put the screws on the inside.

I see near the end of the video you show your completed trees. The green one is it a stain? If so, what kind of stain is it because I still see the woodgrain through the colour and I like that look. Thanks.

Great project but you're totally measuring wrong for accurate cuts you mark on the top and line it up with the blade. Also one of the worst things you can ever do to ruin your hearing is run a saw. Hearing protection so you don't end up like me (professional sawyer of 20+ years)
@sau1itud3668 күн бұрын
The hearing protection is no joke. I worked in a cabinet shop for 18 years, and now I wear hearing aids.

What kind of wood is best? Dimensional lumber or pressure-treated lumber or something else? I’m planning on staining it. Thanks I love this. Going to try and make a few.
@paulsylvester1394 Жыл бұрын
Not pressure treated. The wood is wet and full of chemicals and you don’t need that protection!

I think using 2x4 construction lumber looks the best

I agree, but why not assemble from bottom to top and hide all screws inside with predrilling and countersink.

Try a 'wooden' Christmas tree - 'wood' is a noun - 'wooden' is the adjective (well, it is in the UK).
@woodcraftblueprints3 ай бұрын
I'm aware of that but viewers search for WOODEN so that's why I use and include it in keywords.
