Would be great with an asymmetrical build that is more organic. I feel like I often end up with symmetric structures because it's so pleasing in proportions, while I really struggle with more organic builds.

I came back to valheim after 2 years break and my favorite part has always been doing the builds from video guides. I'm deaf but thanks to you be able to speak clearly and easy to understand with closed captioning. I've already built an outpost like yours but I added an underground storage room on the right right under stone floor. Added an outlook tower on top of the wall and made a sick entrance to the outpost. I could send you screen shots of what I've added and modified. Still some work to go but I look forward to hear back from you! And yes, it was pun intended to say "hear". 😂 P.S I love your building styles. Exactly what I've been looking for. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much! I have had many comments saying that I talk too fast so I am trying to work on slowing down a bit. It's beautiful and fantastic -- not enough storage (especially compared to your black marble workshop from Mistlands - which I built alongside your full rest house, and a basement underneath, it's amazing). Would love to see what you would do to "update" that build with Ashlands parts

There is not as much storage here as there could be but I am certain there are many ways to add more in. I will likely revisit a few of my older builds and update them to suit the new building components but it may take some time. Thanks for your support!

Very nice, I will try this one out. Good to see place for signs on chests, I have that much stuff to sort out I never remember where everything is. Your build videos are some of the best in terms of being an easy guide to follow, Some out there keep changing half way through and it gets too complicated to replicate. Only suggestion I can think of to make your videos even better is at the start show a little screenshot or add in description a list of all the materials needed for the build, I know that would be a pain to do, It's just an idea though. The snapping doesn't work on a few of the things you show as well, Iron torches with core wood, Says invalid every time I get it in the spot it should be.
@phinqs3 ай бұрын
I am exactly the same when it comes to organising my loot. I have had many people ask me about the resource lists. I am currently looking into some ways I can easily obtain that information but I have not completely worked it out yet! The snapping should work but you have to be careful with what you are snapping to. If it is not working at the spot you think it should, try adjusting the cursor slightly to an adjacent snapping point. Thank you for your comment!

Finally got around to watching this. I don't know how, but it feels like my upgrades take way more space than yours 😮 looks really neat! My only critic would be to try to work in more skylines in the roof. Natural light in Valheim is beautiful!
@phinqsАй бұрын
The upgrades can feel strange sometimes. I have found that verticality can help immensely with placing workstation improvements. I love the idea of adding skylights to my structures. However, with this structure, I thought that it would feel too open given all of the workshop areas having large windows. Thank you for your comment!
@arthanor9631Ай бұрын
@@phinqs It is indeed pretty open already. I think using some of the inverted corners, you can make some "lucarnes" (is that a word?) that help break up the roof without opening up too much. I'll have to try the verticality. And upgrade shelf might look good. I did that in Nightingale and my workshop looked really neat.
@phinqsАй бұрын
@@arthanor9631 I agree. I think that the roof could do with a little more detail. I do still like the simplicity though. How are you enjoying Nightingale?
@arthanor9631Ай бұрын
@phinqs I really like the inverted corners peaky windows. Two next to each other make a neat small opening, add a peaked roof in between and you get more of a window. As for Nightingale, I liked it a lot on released and clocked in 100 hours, crafted my "best in slot" equipment (loved 100% fire resist making you actually fireproof). They have changed a lot since and I haven't tried. I enjoyed the really open path to endgame, like Valheim, and I'm not sure a "streamline" experience would be better for me. Any ways, I'm waiting until they stop changing the early game for another playthrough. I had a neat house full of resources and personality with a lower floor cooking/crafting area, upstairs magic/reading/sleeping areas, built on a cliff for a nice sunset view and I haven't felt like starting from scratch again. And.. how did you know I played Nightingale?!
@phinqsАй бұрын
@@arthanor9631 I like the idea of that too! I need to get practise with that style more. Thank you for your breakdown of Nightingale. I will probably wait until full release until I try it again. Also, I knew that you played it because you mentioned it in a previous comment, haha!
