How to Build Around Chishiro, the Shattered Blade

A good little combo to use here is that rhythm of the wild and invigorating hot spring. Hot spring gives modified creatures haste, so when the riot trigger procs, just choose the counter and the creature gains haste from springs.

I would also say some of the best ramp you could add would be Enchantment oriented. Such as Utopia Sprawl, Fertile Ground, Gift of Paradise, New Horizons, Overgrowth, Sheltered Aerie, and Wild Growth. I know there's more, but those were just some examples.

I'm building this deck with some sneaky tech in it besides the obvious smash fave theme. Either burn everyone out or mill them out with tremors or altar of dementia, triggered by either scurry oak combos or Vorinclex and a bunch of creatures out. It's a fun commander as it let's you be diverse in how to build him. I am for sure splashing in token themes in mine as there are a couple good cards for that. Go tall, go wide, go everywhere. Its all good.

best equipment I can suggest for this deck is Bloodforged Battle Axe.

Brass Squire worlds with Equipment creatures. The activated ability to attach equipment is not activating the equip ability. Reconfigure is also attaching to a creature. Cheating reconfigure costs will be huge.

Devour creatures might be a way to go since they become modified once hitting the battlefield. Mycoloth, Dragon Broodmother, Preyseizer Dragon. Cream of the Crop will also help for adding to the hand.

Keen Senses, One With Nature are both great one mana green auras. Crown of Flame let's you loop it to make tokens for every two red spent.

Another really cool card to add: blood forged battle-axe. The card is $1 or less, and can allow you to create tokens over and over again to always have equipment on the field. For anyone who hasn't seen it: 1(colorless) cost, 2(colorless) to equip, with the effect: Equipped creature gets +2/+0 "whenever an equipped creature deals comabat damage to a player, create a token that's a copy of blood forged battle-axe" It's a good cheap way to always have something to equip, and if you pair it with pumping out a bunch of those spirit tokens (or any tokens), your board can get scary pretty easily

I want to add that these tokens have the same effect, so if you have any artifact ETB synergies in mind, it would help proc those as long as you're also dealing combat damage, and especially if you're going wide with multiple equipped at once

A great combo with Chishiro is Goldspan Dragon and Whip Silk or Crown on Flames. You can create infinite tokens!

I've played this guy three times and I am very satisfied. I focus solely on counters, and so far I can get things big quickly. I will say that, if they wanted him to be aura and equipment focused, he should've been naya. Though, you can just add him to Mazzy. But as a commander, he is incredible. The second ability alone is incredible. He's also very easy to build. You just need ways to put counters on creatures.

Oh man imagine doubling season having out your commander and say you cast 4 cheap auras attaching to your commander you make 8 tokens and if you have oran rief vastwood they all become modified and get 2 counters each then end step they get another 2 counters with your commander this guy gonna be so fun

Wouldn't work since Chishiro's tokens aren't green and Oran Rief Vastwood only works with green creatures.

Great deck tech. I look forward to playing this but have a question. Do you think shroud should be oracled to hexproof on all cards? Or, like with greaves, do you think it is a good thing to make someone take them off before targeting their own creature as a failsafe?

Heckkkk no. They're 2 entirely different effects, Oracle texting them would make them interchangeable but you can't do that since the effects are totally different.

@@firehazard2698 yes, they are. That much is obvious. Their effects are overlapping however and one has a major drawback that the other doesn't. Notice they don't print shroud anymore. I think it should be discarded and replaced with hexproof.

Are you silly? That would be a straight power up for any card that currently gives shroud. You simply can't do that in a game like magic. It would immediatelly affect the price of everything printed with shroud in the past, affect their balance, affect their design. Absolutely nutcase idea.
