In this video I will share with you one of the three ways I commonly create bricks for my action figure photography. This method produces a super nice wall that photographs well. I show you how to line the bricks, cut the bricks, texture the bricks and give some painting tips too. Follow along in this video and I am certain you will be able to create yourself a nice brick wall for your photography or miniature needs.
Below are links to items used in this video. If you find them helpful and want to purchase any of the items I have links for you to use. They are Amazon links.

Holy shit man... I watched this entire video, saw you do almost every step throughout the first 32 minutes of the video... But the LAST 2 minutes... If I were to only see the last 2 minutes, you'd have a hard damn time convincing me that this ISN'T a shot of an actual brick wall... Hell, I'm still questioning if it's brick or foam! Very impressive skills and techniques you've shown here, thank you for sharing, especially the wood burning tool tips.

I've been combining a lot of techniques from various videos, but yours seem to be producing the best results. I finished the first primer layer with mod podge/black primer/water. It will need a second coat. Then I'll dry brush the bricks a red/orange and add all my main accent colors for depth, then use your modeling compound mix for the grout, and add back some texture with a black wash and more dry brushing. I have some concrete borders on my panels to do as well. I appreciate the tutorial. The wood carving tool was a bit tricky, but once I got the temp right, the brick pattern really pops out.

Good work shame you over shot some of the lines I'm a bit ocd and it drives me mad when I do it, even find myself scraping panels but that's just me plus I work in 1/24 which is even harder to get those lines correct.but that said don't get me wrong your end result is one of the best I have ever seen and inspire to get as good myself... Anyway all the best

Hi! great video! Im currently following your soldering/woodburning tool technique to make the bricks and everytime my soldering iron leaves the surface of the foam it leaves behind these tiny foam threads. Did you face the same issue and is there any solution other than just picking them individually?

Thank you! This will be perfect for a diorama project I'm working on. Can you elaborate though on what you did on 22:27 ? The difference there is a lot! Wondering what colors and techniques you used after you wiped out the excess paste.

idk if you are referring to the added green flocking or just breaking up the white grout with some darker washes. But that looks like what i did when i visit the time stamp. thanks for watching sorry for the late response

Bud, I know this post is super late and you might not check these. But in case you do, would not be possible to put in the grout, and clean it off from the brick well enough that I could do my texture rolling afterwards? Great video, and I think I am going to try this technique in making some modular gaming walls.
@InsightfulImagery
@InsightfulImagery Ай бұрын
I wouldn’t try that because as you roll the foil or rock or whatever you use to texture will dislodge the grout the way around this would be to make your grout with paint instead of a rigid grout product paint in the color grout you want wipe excess off then texture sorry for the late response
