In this video we build this Coleman Power Steel Pool, the 90469E Model, 16ft x 10ft x 4ft (4ft is the depth). This in-particular model came with the 90402E Filter Pump, which included the filter, and all the necessary pipes / attachments / etc. This was an all-in-one situation, has everything you need to get a pool up and running in your backyard this summer! I want to thank you for your video. I am installing this exact model on a terraced slope and no matter where I looked I could not find the actual locations of the water inlet / outlet hoses. Thanks to you I was able to determine where those are exactly on the pool so it will make my pool setup a LOT easier. PS...I agree with you, these ladders are really poorly designed. I am looking forward to the pool but not the ladder!

I have this pool and have for 2 years. I took it down last yr we out grew it. I used a sand pump with mine. Probably overkill for this size but it stayed crystal clear. It was a very good pool the 2 years we used it never any problems.

@dmoney5442 I had this pool 2 yrs, I recently gave it away to a relative. Never took it down and it was fine. I used one 3 inch chlorine puck in a floater is all I did. I just managed PH and Chlorine and mine stayed clear all summer never any issues at all.

@vanessacardenas6551 I bought a 2100gph Intex Sand Filter, just cause a lot of people said the pumps that come with those pools were junk. I didn't want problems cause I was new then too. Never had any and no I didn't have a skimmer I just netted the pool twice a day. I have an 18x48 pool now and do have a skimmer

Thank you, Sir! There were no instructions with the pump or pool for connecting the pump, hoses, and fittings. Now I can finish our install. BTW, we resorted to pavers, too, and they appear to work well so far. Thanks again!

We just had it plugged into an extension cord to a standard 110v receptacle. But with that said, I’m not sure if you need a dedicated circuit or not, I do not believe so. Good luck!

😂😂 you def do not need the tractor work and sand. We had a small little mound right there for us, so we leveled the area out for the pool, what you need is a nice level area. I’m sure short grass is best, and definitely level and no rocks. It will kill the grass underneath pretty quick, and you’ll have to weedeat around the perimeter (carefully of course), but yeah I’m sure you’re good. Good luck!

Not sure how to send through a pic of this for you, but the sides do bulge out a bit and that’s totally normal. The side supports go out to the sides to allow for this added flex. We had 3 kids in ours yesterday, and have had a bunch of little pool parties, it’s been sturdy for us!

With the way the side bars are angled away from the pool what was the total actual width from one U post one one side to a u post on the opposite side….. Once the pool is totally set up what do the biggest dimensions at the posts become. I’m assuming it’s somewhere around 18 x 12 maybe

I’ve not measured that length, but I’d say atleast 18ft long by 12ft wide, with the angle extensions on the side it may be 13/14ft side to side to totally get around it.

@@daveg4353 the hole is dug out, pool set in, and is filled, then backfilled with dirt. The weight of water keeps it from collapsing in. It’s been said, only there should be problems if only buried half way down 🤞 we are going an extra step and building a retaining wall around 2 sides with rebar and plywood. And leaving the other 2 sides along a fence pretty open. Covered by a shelf. That’s the plan, we’ll see what happens from there hah

Very good video, how many of the 12 x 12 concrete pavers do you need? At what point did you put the pavers down?

I used them under the vertical supports on either end, I think there are 5 per side. I put them down before I started filling with water too deep, maybe about 1 foot of water in the pool. Once you get it full there is no chance you are lifting those legs to add the paver. Good luck on the build!

Our sides bowed outward a bit not inward, but I guess the top rail sort of ‘curved’ slightly in yes if I remember right.

Just ordered this pool in the 42 inch.. the manual says not to put it on top of sand….? Have you had any issues?? I’m petrified of it busting and flooding mine and the neighbors yard if not set up correctly 😢 we have to get someone to level our yard and just want to make sure if he can use sand or not and to help level….

Cool thanks! One other question if you could estimate it… since it’s 10 feet wide, how much extra width does it add with the poles extended outward on the sides? Trying to figure out how wide to get the yard leveled.. maybe 12 feet to accommodate the side legs that look like a U

From memory, I think those leg bars extended out atleast 16” to 18” on each side, but for the sake of planning just call it 2ft per side to be safe. The walls of the pool also “flex” outward too, but the radius doesn’t extend past those bars.

We don’t warm it up, just let the Sun do it’s thing - I’m not sure if there’s a way to use a heat pump with this pool.

In my Honest opinion I think you should get a sand filter coming from a person that owned plenty of Intex pools with the Cartridge filter they never last with out a Sand filter and it’s least Maintenance that way too

That’s a great question, I unfortunately do not know the answer to that. I feel like there wasn’t any ‘suction’ with any of these part. A lot of them ‘clicked’ together, in so far as they had little push-button type connectors that when you pressed them together the ‘pin’ would seat into place. Hopefully that helps a little.. good luck!

A bit too small to me. We use a little pool vac to clean it out, only takes a couple minutes and occasionally needs done not all the time.

good video, very thorough, was wondering one consideration, looking at putting up one on our patio, there is a slight bit of "fall" in the concrete (maybe 2.5-3" across 25 feet) would this be a problem,??? in your opinion, concerned in weight and load on opposing side/end, looks like you hit a homerun with the Kids👍❤

That’s not too terrible of a fall, the pool is 16ft long, so you’d have about 2” drop worst case across that span, probably a bit less. To be honest, that’s about how much we are off on one side as well. We don’t fill all the way to the top anyways, we go just above the pump flow guard, and it works great for us. We did that for a couple years at the old property, we’d take down the plastic in the spring and put back up in the winter. It’s a solid option! We are going to try it again this year for our small garden where we are living now, hopefully with some success. We used 12'' x 12'' pavers, but I'm assuming you could use larger or slightly smaller if you preferred.

Def no leaks on ours no, especially not the seams. The spots where your hoses go in for the filter may leak if connections aren’t tight enough

If you're talking about the 'U' shaped side supports I'm pretty sure they had some 'snap' or 'seating' into place, same with I believe all the parts. It's not always an 'audible' snap but, just feeling like they are seated - hard to explain in text here.

Did you plug your pump into an extension cord? The manual says not to or that it should be no further then 6 feet from an actual plug in. So we are worried

We did bury an outdoor rated cord for now, I’m planning to run conduit underground to the pool, it’s about 60ft from main power source. We haven’t had any issues. We unplug it during the day when swimming, and only run the filter at night, it has a timer built into the switch mechanism, and I figure it’s best to run at night especially with the heat during the day well over 100. Was there any bulging on the sides while filling it? Ours is bulging and I'm too scared to enjoy it, due to fear it will burst. We already drained it once and reset the entire pool and it's still bulging. 🥺😬

Yes, with the oval or rectangle ones it will bow on sides or buldge all the way around the pool at about the height where the band is at that's attached to pool going all the way around. As it gets more full keep check if legs need adjusting and not leaning. I fill mine a good bit above the return eye and I still have slight buldge at where the band is, evidently that is why they add the strap band around the pool is for a bit of extra securing holding in the buldge. If you've seen the easy set pools that have no frame and blow up ring at top how they buldge out further than their blow up ring, my pool visually do not look that far out at the buldge vs the top but it still definitely buldges. I know long comment but I am somewhat ocd about taking care of things and I was really worried about it when I filled it up first time last year, I let it empty this spring to see if I moved it over a bit could I get it better but still same and now I've seen several others similar shape and realized they all do it.

I am setting one these up and the sides are bowed in really bad, I filled it at 75%. Im afraid to fill it anymore, did yours bow in at all?

Yes it did bow out a bit on the sides, been good though, as long as your supports are in the right spots you should be in good shape!

We just filled it over the course of about 5 hours with a garden hose, I think maybe a little less / little longer, but it wasn’t too bad honestly.

We just bought this pool and the instructions, to say the least, are the definition of vague. Only issue I am having is the connections to the pool seem very loose.

Do you know where the part L connector goes that came with the pool? It is gray and says open and close on it.

That is normal my second yr with it and started fresh refilling it this spring and still does all oval even rectangle ones to an extent buldge also. I suppose that's why they add the band strap around the pool too is for a bit of buldge support.

We use chlorine tabs in a little floating thing, that floats around in the pool, water doesn’t smell bad seems like a low amount 🤠

It’s gonna adjust over time. Start with CYA ( cyanaric Acid) then adjust ph , then half a bag of cal hypo shock then alegecide and finally a HTH brand 3 inch chlorine tab and a 3 inch tab of sodium bicarbonate in a second floater

Depending on how big that piece of vinyl is it could be the patch / repair kit as it’s supposed to come with the pool. If it’s really big, past 12” x 12” it might be a part of the pool that fell off or just random excess material.

If the sides are bowing in that may not be good. The lower sections on mine now outward with water in it, which sort of softly ‘swoops’ back towards the top, and the two side rails seem to have a slight bow inward, but all the support posts are plumb and holding well. I think there is probably some margin for imperfection with this type of product, but if it truly doesn’t feel right, see if you can reach out directly to Coleman for some support. I wish we would've found our old pool. It was 52' deep. I got this but they only have 42 inches. On the sides of the pool you'll literally spell D.A.D. with the rodes. The instructions I got were absolutely the worst instructions I've ever seen! It's like a child made them. I don't know if I put the F and E connectors in the right places. It's 11:30pm here so I don't know till morning. Hopefully because my fingers hurt from trial & error. I was hoping this video would say which bars and connectors went where, as the instructions are shyt!
