Archeologist vtuber and real life archeologist and lead designer of the ashes of the empire campaign for from the depths, today's topic: deep water guard styling! i've had so many people ask me lately how i build my ships on stream, and i figured i would explain in this video starting with the easiest style, pathos style. Lord pathos was a convicted former steel striders shipwright who was sent to eriwick to rot away in the fetid swamps of the archipelago. He then later escaped to janwall to cheat, steal, and kill his way to the top. He now calls upon his past experience in designing the advanced ships of the steel striders to arm himself and his private fleet with semi-modern and conventional warships. Pathos style ships are the most conventional in the deep water guard, they tend to come equipped with a pretty standard armament of cram and aps's. Unconventionall layouts, however, are encouraged.

Some common features included on Pathos style ships include metal beltline, which you'll find on all Pathos style ships, you notice that this kind of denotes where the waterline is and is also a good way to be able to build up those deck slopings to allow you to build up turrets and other features. Another common allowance is conventional layouts, you'll notice this mostly on the plundered and the pilferer where they have 2 guns forward, 1 gun back, it's a pretty common layout for ships, uh but there are unconvential layouts such as the ransack where the majority of turrets are actually on the back of the ship or the midship, this allows craft like the ransack to run away and put down more fire while also avoiding enemy fire, so any unconvential layouts you think of are also good to have.
