This video focuses mostly on on-role builds. Since they made such a big deal about Smite 2 allowing for flexibility and off-rolling, I would love to see a video with reasonable off-role builds for characters. Understandably they may not be the best way to play, but it would be something.

I build cooldown… No seriously, the fact that you can effectively have 2 of Spear of Desolation’s passive stacked on each other on a build that’s already provides at least 50% CDR is diabolical (especially on Thanatos whom already HAS a similarly functioning passive.)

Only thing I have to add would be to not build soul reaver on hecate if it isn't 100% necessary. The way soul reaver now deals damage in ticks removes her mezmories on her one since the damage instantly wakes them up Probably not that big of a deal but something you should consider when buying soul reaver

For Anubis, you should use the same build but with Bloodbound Book instead. The 40% lifesteal just isn't worth it, especially considering how prevalent anti-heal is in the current meta. If you're going to be countered anyway, it's better to have an item with a useful active effect. I really wish they would at least give Typhon's Fang a passive related to lifesteal. Honestly, they should bring back its passive from Smite 1 and do the same for Bancroft's Talon (return the item), but make both items solely give lifesteal (about 25% each). That way, you could at least justify their existence. Just stacking lifesteal alone isn't enough in Smite 2, it is just too easy to inflict anti-heal (500 gold is all you need and you have typhon's fang countered).

I would say yo over priotize ult damage scaling in your math on hybrid gods for example ares scales much better with int than str if yo calc for cooldown times.

Crit Morrigan is actually busted with her passive being able to crit causing her with 1 crit item maybe 2 to solo any of the jungle camps also 1 hit of her passive can kill most full damage gods

Its not that i hate it, but on controller its hard for me to do as compared to smite1. Don't get me wrong, sometimes in Smite 1 controllers had their limitations, but now I feel im not going fast enough when trying to pick items from the store. Sometimes im still at base working through the systems trying to pick the item(s) i want, while others have left the base and are playing in the map. Also when i see keyboard players whizing through the item shop and i am using button presses to get through the shop at a slower pace, its not even fair.

I switched up the controller scheme to smite 1 and it want too bad. The item menus fcked me right up after I had my first arena. But you can go through the options to make it like smite 1. I used to play "Berserker" in smite 1 but I changed it abit in custome so it's nearly equivalent to that.

I feel like they made it better for PC than to Console, which really fcked me up Initially, but everything can be switched in the options. Imo, PC still has the optimal ability. I've gotten btched at by looking for new items in the beginning of the game cause the items menu is so fcked up right now, if you're first starting everything is so mixed up you really can't figure out what item to go with at first, alot of the item names has changed since smite 1 it'll be abit difficult to figure out at first.

Sounds like a skill issue. Go read what the items do/practice with them. Yeah the store is gunked up at the moment but it’s really not that hard to build items quickly once you know what that item does.. you should know what your building before you even head back to fountain.

If you whiners can not figure out the new items along with strength and intelligence then go play COD, or anyrhing else that requires no brain activity. Not being locked in to one particular build path is a far superior system. Some of the items are nearly useless, but they will make them viable by release. Almost all the changes theyre making are better for the game.
