I noticed that on your hooked baits you added a little chartreuse to the tails. That’s a good call. The hooked baits with chartreuse will stand out a little more. In my minimal a-rig experience the bait that looks slightly different than the rest is the one that gets bit.

Yup I love dipping my tails in spike it chartreuse, especially when the water looks like it does now. I have found that stripers always love it. I have done really well dipping the tails in black for largemouth. The black seems to work well on finicky pressured fish. Works well on craw tips too.

I always thought you should use the same weight of heads on all your baits so it's balanced. I don't know, but thanks for this valuable information Steve.

Steve you can go threw all that or you can buy a arig for 2 to 3 $ on temu. It takes 10 to 12 days to arrive but you can't make them that cheap. They work great BTW..

I'm more of an aliexpress fan personally. Great swimbaits and jigheads as well. Just make sure you are familiar with metric measurements 😂

Lotta information there Steve. Is there a rule or a law about how many hooks you can have on the a rig? I thought it could only have three but I’m not sure. Thanks Camo guy

California its 3, other states may have a 5 hook law, just have to check before you go.

There’s definitely a law on how many hooked baits you can use on an a-rig. Here in Idaho you can have 5! Great question though.

Definitely check your local laws. Most of cali is three. It's 2 in the bay.

In my state you can only have three baits with hooks in them. I saw one guy who said you could just put weights on the bottom two wires of a 5 wire a-rig so that you can use it as a sort of bottom bouncer for bass. I know to avoid cover, but what about the bottom? Have you heard of this? Tried it? Think it would work?

That sounds like a good idea. I think it depends on the bottom. Soft bottom with sparce veg. may be ok. I do not like rocks and a-rigs but if it catches fish I'm in.
