We hope this will be able to help someone out. I know it has saved us LOTS of time. We enjoy Troy's vlogs. We feel like we have more in common with the home haunters than the "pro". Our home haunt just happens to fill an entire old school built in the late 30's.

You make it look so easy. Love the jig idea and your framing is perfect. Thanks for the tutorial. I actually got here from your comment on HalloweenHellmouth's vlog. Keep up the tutorials.

Your comment is THE reason we made this video. Thanks for taking the time to let us know it was helpful. Good luck to you on your building! There are tons of haunters on KZbin. Keep looking, you'll find many more of us!

No problem, but I bow down to your amazing props! Your work amazes me, especially that TRex head.

Hopefully this will help other people out. It's helped us so much over the past two years. We start putting walls together tomorrow. Video coming Sunday.

Love your jig set up! Hopefully we can have a few panels this year and all panels next year and this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to watching next weeks video.

Great stuff! Haunt vloggers with production values! What a concept! Looking forward to seeing more. But I don't think I've ever seen 1/4" OSB. I might have to pay more attention. And second (or third) the kudos for the jig. Definitely an asset when you're building hundreds of wall panels.

Thanks. Saved a lot of time. Takes about 5 minutes per panel.

Thanks. We get to use the scene shop, at the high school where I teach, during the summer. Works out great for our summer build season.

Thanks so much for sharing! I like how you made a table to lay down the frame perfectly each time. Saves so much time and eliminates having to use additional people. Great job! What kind of plywood did you use? That looks too flimsy for OSB Plywood? If you have a solid frame like you do it looks like you can use lighter plywood for the wall?
@catacombproduction12 жыл бұрын
You are correct. No wall is on it's own. Lots of right angles. Solid bracing at the top is key as well.

Fellow Alabama Haunter here. I need to pay more attention to your channel as you guys have some great stuff going on. Thanks for sharing :)

It is OSB, 1/4 ". Lowes is the only place that carries the 1/4 " around Birmingham, AL. We hate the texture of OSB, but it's what we can afford. We added sand to the paint for the most recent set of walls. It seems to help hide the texture of OSB. Trying to put on a "pro" haunt with a home haunter's budget makes it tough.

For bracing, we use additional 2"x3"x8's just like we use for framing. Happy to help. Even though there are many other videos on wall making, we eventually felt we needed to make our own video. If you plan on making your walls to last make sure to include corner braces. Btw, some of your previous questions might be answered in my "haunt walkthrough" video.

How do you guy's connect your walls? I'm wanting to build out my haunt which will take up some of my drive way and i can't really stake anything in the ground. Do i just brace it up top or?

Thanks. You will see more. We start putting the walls together next week! Maybe some prop videos too.

Thanks! 1/4" is only at Lowes in AL. More videos on the wall. Walls go up NEXT WEEK!

Thanks for the info, but I was wondering more about your assembly. Do you just screw the walls into one another at the ends from the insides? I assume all your walls are one-sided (the backsides are left open for running audio cable, electrical, etc.). Are there any supports between walls that run perpendicular to each other (across the floor or tops)?

Aka Hollywood or tv flats. We mostly used Broadway flats in my scene shop, as muslin was cheaper than luan, but I've always preferred Hollywoods.

We will be shooting a video this next week showing how we connect the walls. First of all we only make single sided walls. We then screw on extra painted OSB sheets after the wall frames are connected. We either bolt or screw the walls together when they are side by side and then brace only at the top. We try to plan as many right angles as possible. They help build a lot of strength. This will all make more sense when you see the video. Thanks for subscribing!

Thanks. I wish I could take credit for the idea, but it's an old trick from people much smarter than me. Please keep watching. More is on the way.

If I wanted to put these walls in my yard how would I stake them into the ground?
@catacombproduction8 жыл бұрын
+LycanDude84 Nice screen name! Werewolves are my favorite monster. You might be surprised how sturdy these walls are once you have several dozen screwed together. You might not even need stakes. If you think you do, try drilling holes into the bottom 2x3 frame. Then run the stake through the hole. Honestly I'm guessing since we have an indoor haunt. Best of luck!

Thanks. These walls are now at least 3 haunt seasons in and they are still in great shape. We've repainted many of the panels, but the frames are still very strong.
