What are your thoughts on running -6 braided SS line all the way from the filter to the fuel rail?
@DeancentGarage3 жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn't do that on a street car or even a track for that matter. I feel like you would be opening yourself up to additonal risk of bresking lines from debris found on the road. The steel lines are small and strong and should last a good 20-30 years.

@@DeancentGarage Thanks for the advice, do you know of an adapter that would go from -6 AN to the factory hard line I think it is 16x1.5 ? I was thinking of maybe doing this in stages starting with replacing the pump to filter/ filter to hard line first then when I have access to a lift replace the hard lines.
@DeancentGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are actually adaptors that you can buy that will convert the hardline to AN fittings. Check out this write-up on my site and scroll down a bit and you will see a product list as well as diagram that shows the part with part number you would need to convert the hardlines to AN fittings . www.deancent.com/porsche-944-fuel-line-build-and-install Good luck on your project!

Sidenote I just got my 944 turbo and was already subscribed to your KZbin when I saw the giveaway on your Instagram (my point is keep up the awesome Instagram because it’s a great way for people to keep up with the channel). I’m so happy that people are still making videos about these cars. Especially with such detailed instructions on how to build a quality fuel system

Thank you Mark, I appreciate it. I'll be updating Instagram more often as well. Good luck with the 951, enjoy it!

Do you sell any of these already assembled?
@DeancentGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hello David, I unfortunately do not but if you look up larts parts they sell rebuilt lines.

I'm doing the exact same project. I didn't know there was an AN banjo adapter, I would have used that. So what I'm hung up on is converting the original fuel filter. Does that AN female fit directly on the end of the factory fuel filter?
@DeancentGarage4 жыл бұрын
There is an adaptor that converts the fuel filter thread to an6. I removed the fuel filter fitting that comes with the filter and replaced it with a m16 x 1.5mm to an6 adapter.

can i buy a stainless steel kit just for top engine fuel hoses?
@DeancentGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hey drose977, yes I believe larts parts on eBay still sells kits just for the engine bay and Devin Lyons in the premier 944 turbo Facebook group also makes quality kits.

Good video. Thnx for the part list break down. A process ahead for me. Only issue I see is the removal of the check valve. It’s purpose is to help hold fuel pressure in the rail after shutdown. The engine won’t start as quickly as the pump will have to bring the line pressure back up. I have an 044 pump on my supercharged 928 and it supports over 500hp at the current fueling with check valve installed.

Thanks TH. I agree, the removal of the check valve was a mistake and I'll be reinstalling one 👍
