He was probably happy to sign the release or agreement but when it comes down to paying half the cost, they are usually short on money. It can be complicated when you have many neighbors willing to pay half since there is usually 3 neighbors and to collect from them all and paperwork, etc.

Only one of those 20 guys knew how to dig a trench, a simple trench, and that is their supposed field of passion. What has become of us. I always thought learning to dig post holes and simple trench happened for most guys about when they learned to ride bikes and help with the dishes. On another note- Mr. Odell your videos are always helpful and well thought out.

yeah, how DARE they not know EVERYTHING about a profession and go to SCHOOL to LEARN how to do it from current professionals. Calling a footer a simple trench only illustrates your lack of knowledge about the subject. They showed up, they looked attentive, and they did what they were told - pretty much the perfect apprentice.

The way I understand those mushroom style rebar caps at least here is, the ones you are using are fine for what you’re using them for to prevent cuts and abrasion. The bigger square style OSHA requires to stop impalement when there are workers above rebar sticking up. Nice start to the wall.

Hey question on this. Say there was an existing grandfathered garage (permitted) that is a foot from the surveyed property line and both parties agree to put a fence, can the fence be built entirely inside the other property that has no garage so it's not to close to the existing garage? Where I work mostly the foremen and engineers wear the white hardhats. And it looks like most jobsites, the whitehats mostly just watching one guy work. Edit: fixed a typo

@@OdellCompleteConcrete I wrote that comment wrong. I meant to write "white hardhats". Obviously everyone has a hardhat but on my sites they're usually on a basic form of color coding. White is engineers and foremans, green is the safety guy, and grey are for site visitors.

No wonder they charge so much.. 27 guys.. Me and two other people did a 30ft in length and 5ft in height wall in about a weeks time.. With a jackhammer, shovels' a pick and a small cement mixer..
