Best instructional video I found till now. No idle and incoherent Chitchat. I was looking for close up views of the single manoevers, which tool to use in every step. After my pessimism when unboxing and ordering the tools, I am now more looking forward to get into action. Thanks.

For a first timer on wooden ship models, you have a grate attitude and confidence in your approach. Keep it up and good luck.

A tip on the bulwark bending at 21:30 is to let the bulwark soak in hot water about 8 minutes, then use the side of a drinking cup or glass to gently bend the forward section until it closely approximates the curvature of the hull. I wrapped the bulwark around the cup a little section at a time, but working quickly. I didn't crack the wood at all and once dry it held the shape nicely.

I cut some scrap lumber the same shape as the deck for the bulworks. This way I could bend the wood into shape without breaking it at the first opening ( had to order new ones as I broke them on the first attempt without a mold). Between light steaming and a heated plank bender, got a very good fit. I then fit the inner planking on the bulworks while it’s still in the mold-that way it kept the same shape. I also did the same sort of mold for part 24- the curved piece at the stern. Both ideas worked out great. Hope this helps.

Choosing a smaller wooden ship model is actually much harder than choosing a large one. Imagine how tight the rigging gets on a small model trying to keep the same level of detail as a larger one, and you get the idea.

The video is from "Alex Modeling", unfortunately the construction error can also be seen here. At 11:28 he cuts out the recesses for the frames on the deck, but they have to remain. He also did not move the indicated joints of the deck planking correctly. Otherwise thanks again to Alex for his great videos.

Next time write 11:28 (colon) : Then we can click and find it immediately 😀. So you have built the Model, I will receive mine in 14 days. Some people on the net claim the instruction is only in spanish Is that true?
@elcaputo59312 жыл бұрын
Hi. The instructions are mainly in Spanish, but the parts are also translated into English and German. But the pictures give enough clues. It is important to think three times before drilling, gluing or anything else ...
