This is really cool. The engine looks awesome. If I was going with something like this, I would go the middle of the road set up as was described in the video. Can’t wait to see how much HP comes out of this engine set up like this. Having said all that, I’m sure that the cost involved in this is probably pretty pricy.

For those who don't have a local dyno shop available, some tuners can do a very good job for you remotely by reviewing data logs and adjusting/rewriting your tune as needed.

My solution for the 300 6 intake/exhaust was the fuel injection exhaust and intake manifolds but replaced the throttle body with a side draft weber. The cost and effort to install EFI better put to other problems.

Hey, I’m running the Holley sniper 2bbl with the duraspark distributor on my 250 i6. I was wondering if you have had any issues with blow by from the base of the distributor? I was running the DUI HEI distributor with no issues, but since going to the duraspark I can’t stop the oil leaking. I’ve changed the o-ring, used RTV, made a customer Viton rubber gasket to seat the base on. All with no results. I even pulled the engine and had new rings put in thinking the crank case was getting over pressured from piston blow by. I’ve also bought a second duraspark and it too has the same issue. How is your duraspark holding up?
@FrankGuerrini-p6wКүн бұрын
Correction: I mean Hyperspark distributor
@enginegremlin7 сағат бұрын
@@FrankGuerrini-p6w no problems with my Hyperspark so far. If you've got blow by, that makes me think one of two things. 1. You've got too much blow by in your cylinders and it's looking for anyway it can to get out of the block and it's taking path of least resistance at the O-rings. But since you replaced the rings, sounds like that's not the issue. 2. You have a blockage somewhere in your oil passages that's causing some back pressure and goofing up the seals. You might try revving and see if this gets worse over higher revs to help troubleshoot. Interesting and unfortunate conundrum you've got there. Sorry I can't be more help without actually seeing it in action.

Have you asked Holley if the hyper spark can me converted to cam and crank signal. Similar to a dual sync?
@enginegremlin Жыл бұрын
So it can be IF it's paired with a Sniper EFI throttle body. The reluctor wheel has one tooth different so the Sniper software can tell what cylinder 1 is. The v6 software on the HP and Terminator ECU doesn't support it being used that way. That being said, I would love to see that as an update push to the next rev of the software and plan to flow that up to @holleyperformance.

@tmacdagreattv5 ай бұрын
@@enginegremlin so it about doubled it. At what cost$ moneywise ? Also suggest upgrade an inline 6 or just do a complete v8 swap? Which is more economical?
@enginegremlin5 ай бұрын
@@tmacdagreattv a V8 will definitely be more economical but not nearly as unique or fun. Our i6 will dump out between 350 and 500 HP when we boost it and re-tune it depend on how much boost you add. With the new head we're designing we're targeting 750-1000 HP but it requires some SERIOUS mods. The build up to this point between $6k -$8.5k depending on how much you do yourself vs a machine shop and the state of your motor. Our motor was totally seized and needed a complete overhaul.
@tmacdagreattv5 ай бұрын
@@enginegremlin nice , so how much would you estimate would be the cost to get my inline 6 to about 300-350 hp?
@enginegremlin5 ай бұрын
@@tmacdagreattv if you use a Sniper unit and a supercharger out of one of the fox body 5.0s (which is the easiest way), I'd say $7.5k-$8k assuming you do a full motor rebuild. Less if you motor is running and in decent shape.

It is what it is whether it’s your fault or not. If you have subscribers complaining then they should just get the hell over it. Second quit saying “uh” every other word. It’s very tedious to listen to. Third when and where is the #4 dyno video? I have looked through all of your videos and don’t see one labeled as such.

Nope no more EFI crap on my vehicles. They will leave you sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Carbs and points will do just as good or even better if done right. This going electronic with everything is just dumbing down the hot rod world. Anybody can buy the parts and bolt them on and go but if they had to make or convert the part themselves they will be lost.

Each to their own but , Ill take EFI and cam/crank triggers/distributor less ignition over the old stuff anyday

No problem if you do but don't forget to keep money back for repairs and tow fees because the cost is much higher for newer vehicles than older and good luck in bad weather- snow etc. Last efi vehicle i owned broke down at 8000 feet on the interstate in a blizzard. Never again. Keep an emergency kit in your car, you will eventually need it.
