This is probably the most legitimate video I have ever seen about growing a youtube channel. Most videos I've seen are just the plain old "consistency", "collaborations", and just general stuff that everyone already knows. Everything that was talked about in this video is true!!

Another strategy that works really well for me was start translating videos for more popular channels. When you transalate theirs videos you get a permanent credit in the description box and trust me, a lot of people click your profile because of that :)

I found my niche. It's making storyboarding videos. Initially, people were interested but later it faded also there was no much sharability value in it i suppose. Recently made my laziest video on trending topic with clickbait title and it's my most successful ever. I have 95 subs but it got 450 views per day for a week. This all made me realize i dont know much about video content and audience as much i thought and need to learn a lot.

Ameya Benare I guess the topic is really important and to catch on what's trending atm and all but I also feel a bit sad about that. Like can't people do whatever topic they like and that they are passionate about instead of only making content out of what viewers want to see?
@AmeyaBenare7 жыл бұрын
JellyIsland thats the dilemma we creators face at start but eventually after months of efforts i understood creator should find the common ground. No one wants to see storyboards made by me, and why should they, but i found out i i make storyboards of popular things, i cater some amount of demand. Those who likes drawing and topic both will eventually follow me. Lets see how it works out next year.
@DevonDashcam7 жыл бұрын
JellyIsland but unless your channel is about following the latest trends - chasing a trend in the moment will only last until that trend fades away. I still think doing something you are passionate about is most important, even if it takes longer to grow because if you're going to have to hustle to get there, you'd better enjoy it as much as possible at the same time!

For myself, I find most of this information is incredible in regards to my small channel and how to gain growth and improve the awareness of my content. Like a few other people have said, most other vids just talk about consistency, quality and collaborations etc... but never anything specific like you guys reveal. I seem to struggle with gaining subscribers out of the (little) views I am receiving, but it is beginning to improve, so I can be thankful for the improvements I've been reaping so far. Looking forward to your future content!
@filipinoflo41586 жыл бұрын
I can echo those thoughts. It may seem discouraging that we're advertising ourselves yet we're not seeing the desired results, but what's most important is we are being consistent and maintaining it. The key that I've learned is while they, the subscribers and viewers, do not know us and perceive us as nobodies, that we put out content so that when they do visit us, they have plenty to see.

I have about 120 subscribers and I have definitely found that when I go on other similar youtube channels and comment (a genuine comment) people come and check me out. Also if people ask me to check out their channel, I do because I want to support other people who are doing awesome work. I think it's appropriate (sometimes) to ask people to check out your channel because otherwise they might not- and if your proud of your work, you want other people to see it, so why not ask!

+McKenzie Steuber I totally agree with you. I rarely ask people to check out my channel and usually i just browse other channels and comment as i'm genuinely interested in their content. I'm so glad that I found your channel guys! Been binge-watching your videos when I wake up, when I'm on my free time, and before I go to sleep. It's because I'm really determined to grow my KZbin channel (which I started just a month ago). I've always wanted to try vlogging but I never really found the courage to start my own channel because of my apprehensions and yes, fear. Fear of not being able to provide quality content to viewers. Fear of not being able to provide value. Fear of receiving harsh comments. And most of all, I'm very conscious in front of the camera because, I'll be honest, I'm not really that attractive. But one day, I asked myself: Am I really going to let those fears stop me from doing what makes me really happy? Doing videos is something that gets me really pumped and excited to wake up to everyday. So far, I only have 11 subscribers but I'm very happy with the amount of views that I'm getting at this stage. Currently, I do videos that talk about working at home (and these videos are in my native language, which is Tagalog) but I'm planning to do more contents that will let me introduce my country and my culture to the world. So I just wanna say thank you guys for being awesome -- you inspire a lot of us to dream, work harder, and prove that it's possible to make it on KZbin.

Thanks for giving a realistic time frame. I see channels that are up for a month and they have a few thousand subs and you're like, what? how?
@DeniseGlass8 жыл бұрын
they might of paid to have their channel put on a platform
@abc-hi6df8 жыл бұрын
+Denise Glass Hiya Denise! How do they do that? You dont mean pay for views?
@DeniseGlass8 жыл бұрын
There are sites that work with youtube and can be used as "pay for views" If you pay directly through youtube the steps are a little confusing and I have a hard time understanding the analytics. Video Manager Click on the down arrow to Promote Click Promote Video Then follow the steps through the campaign budget (Again this is very complicated) I did one trial run with a company called Virool www.virool.com They are a little expensive, so I am not doing it right now, but I did get views when testing it. I did not get new subscribers or comments or likes. I think it depends how much one is willing to spend. I hope this helps some. Some of the other KZbin videos mention other platforms, but I have not checked into it yet.
@abc-hi6df8 жыл бұрын
I see... I have always wondered if there was a trick that YTs don't mention. I have done the correct tagging etc and get no real improvement... I mean more subs through time, but views are abysmal. I have opened a few channels and they are all subject to the same way of growth. I have seen literally one YT start with one video with no preexisting channel and amass over 100k views within a month. This YT, for the genre isn't even good and I am thinking what??? There are others who genuinely have good content and struggle with even getting 100 views a month. I guess it's a combination of short cuts and on screen magic.
@TheProcessLife7 жыл бұрын
vegopiggingout Hey hun, I recently found out that ppl can literally pay for subscribers...Did you know that? So that's another reason why you see 100k+ from those just starting...

This is the hardest for me. Not that I'm at scratch per se but I feel like the uphill climb gets harder every year. I had this channel for years and never posted a lot of videos. I feel like I missed my time to blow up in the early 2010s, tried a little in 2016 then I got busy with my full time job. Now I'm inspired again and think I make decent content but I have so much to learn still. Gotta strap in hard for the rest of the year.

Hello Afua. First of all, you have almost 200 subscribers now, you have doubled your subscribers in a month - great job! If you want some actual tips - I have checked your channel, and here is what I'd recommend: 1) Make the channel art appeal to an English-speaking person (or the language your channel will be in), make sure the channel art answers the question "what is the channel about?" 2) Focus on one topic and consistently publish content in this topic. 3) Just post more. 4) Record videos that answer some questions many people have, and post them as answers to popular question sites, like Quora. 5) Ask for feedback from your friends when you post a video. Good luck!
@LesyasHowTos7 жыл бұрын
subbed. P.s. If you need tips how to boost your subscribers numbers, you can think of 1) consistency - more videos in one topic, one per month; 2) content quality: ry to answer questions viewers in your niche may have. Think: "in what case would I watch the video?" 3) promoting on other platforms (blogs, sites, etc). Post videos that would be answers to questions on Quora.
