my 2 cents, looking with your head really helps with spins. your body tends to follow your head so looking over your shoulder can help get the spin around if you find yourself under rotating...
@DustinNotJustin7 жыл бұрын
ahhh good point! I see a lot of people looking the wrong way when they're trying to spin. Def need to look the same direction and target of where you're trying to go. Good call Josh!

If ur not getting the rotation try and look at an object that's 180 degrees behind you and when ur trying the trick look at that object in the air

I can bunny hop over 18in but my 180 is maybe 3in double tire style. How are you able to switch to the correct way?

My hops are fundamentally flawed but I can't figure out why. I think, from doing it right by fluke in the past, that I should be getting more rebound out of the rear tyre, but how I managed to squash the tyre on those occasions I don't know. I have an old video of me hopping on my channel. If you had any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong I'd be grateful to hear them. A trials rider once suggested I wasn't pushing down into the bike hard enough, although I don't seem to be able to push down into the bike harder than I am now. Thanks.
@DustinNotJustin5 жыл бұрын
just keep practicing and working those muscles, it'll come eventually
@filmnoirprotagonist14365 жыл бұрын
@@DustinNotJustin I appreciate your response but because I've done it in the past it seems more likely technique rather than muscle is key. Because of the lower pressures used, trials videos demonstrate the tyre compression well. What intrigues me about this video in particular is the heel of the leading foot, which drops and travels forward as the rear tyre compresses (the tyre further compresses as the bars are raised). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJDGaImtj5JmoNU The drop of the leading heel can be even more pronounced on back hops, such as the one at the beginning of this video (best seen at 0.25 speed) kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3e1hIyvjKaGi5Y Do you have any idea as to what they're doing with their lead foot? Is it possible they're pulling down into the leading pedal with the toes of that foot curled around the pedal's front edge? A trials rider once told me to squash both tyres simultaneously, using both arms and legs, before leaning back to further squash the rear tyre, but this doesn't seem to compress the tyre substantially when I try it. Sorry for the involved response but I've been at this years and I'm ready to give up.
