Great stuff, really had to take a good look in the beginning to see that it wasnt actually a real fire. Explained it all very well. Would like to see a continuation though on what other minor detils you could do like shimmering on the glossy stair railing, overall glow flicker intensity, smoke, etc.

Thank you for your tuitorial and not being so expedient. I'm not an expert in After Effects so I require more input. Must say, I'm impressed with the quality of your photos you have for sale, better than Video Copilot, opps! Wish you would provide more tuitorials. I am trying to make my kitten roar like Godzilla and shoot fire directly at the spectator.

Add my kudos to the mix. I'm tempted to use some puns that use flaming and hot but will refrain from doing so. I now see that just having the fire stock footage is but a small part of achieving realism. Your tutes are value added to my purchase and will hopefully ensure I don't just slap on flames without consideration of the many other factors needed. I'll be tempted though.
@ActionVFXofficial8 жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks Les! Yea, there's always more work involved than simply "dragging and dropping" stock footage if you want great results.
@denisfilming8 жыл бұрын
A great complement to structure fire would be structure smoke. Imagine a scene where flames cannot be seen yet, and heavy dark smoke is just rampant everywhere, following the (top) contours of door frames and windows, or emanating from under the door, or cracks in a wall...that sort of thing. For sure this can be faked with other smoke assets, but nothing beats the real thing. I would definitely add this to my collection.

Given that we are a stock footage company serving the professional industry, the time and resources it takes to film real elements and prepare them for pro-level work, we understand that our prices may be higher than others. We actually have a new cheap subscription plan that you should check out: www.actionvfx.com/pricing

I wouldn't use Keylight to get rid of the white background. Just use the Blending Mode "Multiply".
