Major misrepresentation at start of the video. You actually CAN by a car in the UK regardless of who you are, if you buy in cash. £1000 will get you an ok car which will easily last you a couple of years.

Hi Ashika, based on my experience, car finance is very difficult if one is a UK resident with less than 3 years. Most credit brokers / banks will not entertain your application even if you have an excellent credit score and rest may offer you at an exorbitant APR of over 18%.

Other information may be useful but you ou don't get car finance until you have 3 years location history. You also won't get car loans until you provide more than a year employment history. You can however buy with cash payment or based on personal agreement with seller but car financing won't be considered with meeting those criterion

You can choose directly from the car showroom - pre approved used. VW usually gives it. Only 6 months pay slips are needed.

Hey there, it really depends on whether you want to buy it outright or take it out on a lease. Lease might be challenging unless you have payslips from a few months. Outright shouldn't be a challenge.

Thanks and good Information, I was in same situation as you and pretty much did the same stuff you guys did, though I got my used BMW with outright purchase because I got fed up as even PCP & HP were not the options as I had just joined my Job. You actually didn't tell of what your video was supposed to be about? Which option did the dealer OK'ed for you? PCP or HP? Because even these require a bit of bank/credit history, I was told to try after drawing at least 3 salaries (I couldn't wait 3 months🤣). I guess you had already drawn 3+ months of salary by then which gives you a FAIR credit score at the least. In this case you could have gone for Company Car lease program with a Hybrid/Electric car which additionally gives you IT/BIK benefit, 0 road tax, new tyres, full annual service, Insurance renewal, change to new car every 3 years(just drop off the old and pick up new one).

Hi Sanghamitra, it was a very good decision. No challenges yet either with the purchase or with the usage post that. At a point, one of the lights stopped working cuz some bulb had burnt out and the company changed it themselves at no cost.
