You buying apartment in Norway doesn't give you any kind of immigration status. Udi and banks are different.

And I advise that you become a member of "The BOLIGBYGGELAG" in the city that your want to buy your property in år least 1 year in advance so that you can have seniority to win the bid, when you and someone else offers the same amount by 12pm. It's a one time payment fra 700kr to 900kr in most cities in Norway.
