Like your story and the guitar.a few years back I went to a pawn shop just to see what they had found a Peavey predator it was dirty and had a broken nut.they only wanted 29.99 I fixed the nut put new strings cleaned it up plays great!

Hi Eric. I have 2 Epiphone Les Paul in my collection. One from 1996 with Seymour Duncan in it and one Custom Pro, arctic white with split coil from 2013. I do not miss a Gibson, the sound is in your hand.

They can be great guitars Tommy! I had two real Gibson Les Pauls in the past that I sold because they just did not perform! I have 2 Epiphone LP's that I love and will probably never part with! Go figure! Thanks for watching man!

Always great to hear when a pawn shop find goes really well! I go quite a bit (picked up a blu ray for $3.00 today), and it largely depends on the item, the general mood of the guy working the place and if course how bad I want it! I generally can take or leave anything I negotiate, so #3 isn't too bad if a problem for me. Anyway, I have an Epi Pro SG (buddy got it for me for Christmas, don't you want my friends?) and it's great. Its the only SG I need and have been on the lookout for more Epiphone Pros ever since! Thanks for posting, Eric, I think you got a good one!

EricBlackmonGuitar I play everything on acoustic, which I prefer, I have a Hamer, but something's wrong with the way it sounds? I've got a Marshall amp, 50 watts, but there's something wrong with the guitar. I think it's the tuners? Instead of tuning the the guitar 🎸 itself, I tune it with a tuner over air with the sound coming from the amp, which is better sounding than tuning the guitar itself. This guitar was worn out by a local band. Maybe the guy ripped me off? Just seems like it just plays out of tune immediately. I've just forgotten it and enjoy my acoustics, but sometimes I wish I could plug that thing in and get the sound out of it I paid for.

Sounds like intonation. Trying new strings and an intonation job by a guitar tech. If a guitar intonation is out, it won't tune up and play right no matter what you do! Good luck with it Troy!

Epiphone satin finish red and brown usually have a good sized neck and build quality is pretty good. Saw a Black '56 tribute (P-90s, Gibson hardware ) going for $689 (CDN) brand new, but it's got the same build quality as a similar Gibson Trad for $2700, go figure...
