How to bypass VATS in a 2001 Camaro SS LS1

In an emergency situation when you are unable to find resistors can’t you simply disconnect the starter relay and jump it leaving it disconnected. The pin that jumps the relay in theory would override the security system and when the key is turned to the on position it will turn the starter over. Trick the ecu into thinking everything is working fine and will disable the security light automatically.

If im not sure what resistance it is set and have to try each set would it turn instantly when I get the right resistance or would the security light go off and I have to wait for it to read the ohms? Like a security feature for trying to many keys in a short period

I have a 2000 Camaro do the same thing and I ordered the one you say to get and it don't work my key reading 4.72

You have to figure out your particular key impedence and get resistor to match by either getting a direct match or getting a few resistors that add up and linking them together .
